About Sugars in our Diet

Sugars in our Diet -MQ

Green Carbs M -MQ

The answer to sugars in our diet – The more complex the better!

Sugars are a vital component of the fuel we require to function – unfortunately the modern diet is akin to a 24 hour petrol station and most of us slide effortlessly up to the supercharged pump and pay the very heavy price to fill our tank with it. We then tootle at 20 miles an hour or slower and instead of burning off the fuel we store it in our cells – as fat.

A quick look at the fuel itself. It belongs in the carbohydrate food group, our main source of energy. Carbohydrates are a group of nutrients that contain carbon atoms that have been hydrated by adding water molecules. Carbohydrates include sugars, starches and fibre. The sugar and the starches are metabolised by the body into the simple sugar, glucose. Glucose molecules circulate in the bloodstream, supplying our cells with the fuel, as they need it. Any additional glucose is converted into glycogen, which is stored in the muscles of the liver. If that storehouse is already full then any excess glucose gets converted into fat.

Types of carbohydrate. – There are two types of carbohydrate, simple and complex.

Simple carbohydrates contain one or two saccharides such as sucrose (glucose and fructose) which is table sugar and lactose (glucose and galactose) which is the sugar found in milk. This is called a disaccharide.

If the carbohydrate only has one saccharide, it is called monosaccharide such as fructosewhich is found in fruit and honey. The less saccharides the sweeter the taste so the sweetest is therefore fructose. Whilst moderate consumption of natural sources of simple sugars is absolutely fine including fruit and some honey it is the hidden simple sugars in industrialised foods that are causing the problem.

Complex carbohydrates are known as polysaccharides and they are made of long strings of simple sugars and there are many different kinds. These are the starches and are the most nutritious because they tend to be a component in a food that has other nutrients. The body also breaks down starches into glucose, but it takes longer to digest than the simple sugars which is why they do not cause the same blood sugar fluctuations.

Fibre is a very important carbohydrate because the intestinal tract does not have the enzymes necessary to break down the long chain into individual sugar molecules so it does not get absorbed into the bloodstream – also, fibre slows down the digestion and absorption of sugar, which extends and maintains the energy levels it provides. The source for this nutritious and useful form of complex sugars is found in green vegetables, whole grains, beans, potatoes and other fibre rich foods.

Antibiotics give rise to new communities of harmful bacteria

Researchers identify unexpected activity of antibiotics, potentially reshaping our understanding of why antibiotics evolved and pointing to broad health implications

Most people have taken an antibiotic to treat a bacterial infection. Now researchers from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of San Diego, La Jolla, reveal that the way we often think about antibiotics – as straightforward killing machines – needs to be revised.

The work, led by Elizabeth Shank, an assistant professor of biology ……  …… …… not only adds a new dimension to how we treat infections, but also might change our understanding of why bacteria produce antibiotics in the first place.

“For a long time we’ve thought that bacteria make antibiotics for the same reasons that we love them – because they kill other bacteria,” said Shank, whose work appears in the February 23 Early Edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. “However, we’ve also known that antibiotics can sometimes have pesky side-effects, like stimulating biofilm formation.”

……………

“That suggests that antibiotics can independently and simultaneously induce potentially dangerous biofilm formation in other bacteria and that these activities may be acting through specific signaling pathways,” said Shank. “It has generated further discussion about the evolution of antibiotic activity, and the fact that some antibiotics being used therapeutically may induce biofilm formation in a strong and specific way, which has broad implications for human health.”

Biofilm -.bio.ku.dk

Microbial communities are often organized in biofilms, which are recognized as bacteria and other microorganisms attached to a surface and embedded in a self-produced matrix. Biofilms are present on a variety of surfaces – from stones and plants in aquatic environments to water distribution tubes, air conditioning facilities, and also in our own bodies, for instance in the digestion system. Additionally, infectious diseases often involve biofilm formation by pathogenic bacteria.                                                                                              Excerpts From: http://www2.bio.ku.dk/microbiology/research/biofilm.asp

Malassezia and Thirst

Thirst and Malassezia - MQ

K1- “malassezia and thirst”

There are Numerous Malassezia Unrelated causes for Thirst
and should be investigated and taken into consideration
such as consumption of Salt, Preservatives and a Variety of
other condiments, only to name a Few, as well as many
not directly connected to Foods, such as infections, fever
fighting a Cold, or Stress and so on…

I have observed overtime that in my case thirst is often
connected with foods with low water content
– having a general dehydrating effect on the Body
among some other reasons i have referred to above.
I never eat salt or other additives but some foods like nuts
and seeds make me thirsty unless i eat them with fruit.
Hydration is important for the Body and impacts directly
on Malassezia as i have mentioned in detail in Entry (1-2)

Regarding Malassezia, i have noticed two ways where
there is a direct connection with  Thirst:

1- Kidney Attack

Kidneys - MQ

When finding its way up to the Kidneys causes inflammation
and interference with proper processing of fluids.
Presence of  Kidney or Lower Back Pain is a good Indication.
Personal Experience of Kidney Attack – Thirst connection (3)

2- Congested Colon

Transverse Colon - MQ

Constipation and/or Anal Itch is a good indication.

This would be mainly caused by Poor Body Hydration
due to Reasons mentioned above, including affected
Kidney function but Malassezia Highly Colonises in the
Intestinal Canal and appears to be Both Attracted by
and Utilising Fluids in /and from any area of the Body.
Whether and how much Fluid and for What Purpose/s
it does utilise, i have No way of quantify or qualify
but i can say with absolute certainty that Water
especially hot- Internally, sets it in Motion without fail!*
When something goes wrong with internal Body
fluid availability- there is a distinct change in
its behaviour and the way it is affecting the skin. (4)

* Three times a Day i drink a cup of ‘not-too- hot’ water
in between meals – not too soon after the previous meal
and nor too close to the next one either.
Within 10-15 minutes there is unfailing commencement
of Malassezia activity in certain areas-different each day.
This has been a repeated verification of Internal Fluids
and Malassezia close connection and operation.

A Day on Just Plenty of Fresh Fruit can Restore Hydration
Relieve Thirst as well as Promote Bowel Peristaltic.

Pityrosporum - MQ

Q1- “how long to kill Pityrosporum”

There is no set time frame that applies to everyone.
————– It depends on
* 1- Individual’s Immune Condition
* 2- Severity and Extent of Problem
* 3- Factors Contributing to the Problem
* 4- Area of manifestation
* 5- Accessibility of area for effective treatment

Arrow -MQ

* 1- Illness, Stress can tax the immune system
* 2- If Periodic or Chronic condition
* 3- Internal or external contributors
causing or aggravating the condition, such as
Illness, Medications, Cosmetics or Hygiene Products
* 4- In one area or in several – internally/externally
* 5- Some areas are inaccessible or treatments not suitable

Malassezia is Not just a Topical External Problem
                       Treating the External
Does Not Solve the Problem Internally

Q2- “does acidophilus help pityrosporum”

Acidophilus Malassezia -MQ

Areas i have found ‘Acidophilus Mix’ (1) helpful
– and by Helpful i mean Clearing, Healing the area
and Preventing to a great degree Re-infestation-

* Scalp – it took me a Full 8 weeks consistent treatment (2)
* Under Breast
* Pubic and Genital area
* Legs, Feet and Toes

with only exception the eyelash area.
because the Yeast moves quickly into the eyes

Seawater also has a strong Healing and Deterring effect

When every Day is a Challenge

Whether a Good day or a Hard one

      And overwhelming weariness takes over

Retreating temporarily into its own Depths

  To Rest and Regenerate.

I can identify with the Insightful and Inspiring Entry below

describing such a Let Go Moment

                               The Letting Go

Safflower Bud - MQ

I began to capture moments
noticing what was there
seeing, feeling, sensing
beyond these things.

Always at a certain point
I let go of all of it.
I stopped trying so hard
to capture
or express
or control.

This is the place
I have taken myself to.

Malassezia Private Sensations

The Genital area is the Most Difficult one to Treat
and Maintain Clear and Free of …Casualties
because it is an Area that Provides in abundance
Most if not All of Malassezia’s  Needs
————– such as

1 * Warmth
2 * Humidity
3 * Hair Follicles
4 * Easy access to Blood (sensitive vulnerable flesh)
5 * Elements for Growth and Multiplication

It is also a thoroughfare of Traffic Into and Out Of
the Internal Areas from where it Emerges and /or Returns
in an unstoppable, impossible to inhibit, persistent
and consistent way at some Stage/s of its Cycle
much like –as if it is – its natural basis, i.e … Home!

there is some Bruising in the area due to the attack.

They are, invariably, Painful and Uncomfortable
and as i mentioned above impossible to treat
in a long lasting way or especially stop the Traffic.

There are some benefits that Can be achieved though
———————–  such as
* Minimise Inward ( Return??…) Traffic
* Deter Malassezia ‘Settling’ in the area
and create Bumps, Blisters, Cuts and Lesions.
* Promote Faster Healing  if/where created a problem
* Immediate Soothing of Itch, Burn and Pain

a) It is a genuine Symptom and
b) It is the same one as in the Keyword below

K27- “sticky substance on hand gritty feeling
Yes, this is Malassezia in transit in its Sticky Biofilm (1)

All of the Above Symptoms and Stages can be Treated
– Preferably as Soon as any Sensations are Felt –
with Washing and Scrubbing the area well
-painful as this might be, in order to Dislodge and get Rid
of any Spores, Hyphae or Cloning Sisters present-
with an old Harsh Face Cloth  and Plain Warm Tap Water
without any Soaps or other Antibacterial Items.
Drying well  again, Scrubbing rather than pat drying
and Applying Acidophilus Mix (2) to Kill, Heal or Deter

and Preventively at Bedtime, once symptoms subside.

This Keyword below though, certainly landed in the wrong site

K6- “how to cure scalp Malassezia”
       K7- “maleazia scalp condition”

I have trialled numerous types of Shampoo
from Ordinary, for Men, Women, and even Baby
containing Tea Tree, Coconut Oil etc, etc,
to supposed Dandruff control, containing ingredients
such as Selenium Sulphite and /or Zinc and more
-as well as Specifically Medicated ones, such as
Ketoconazole variations and of different brands
as well as some Lice treatment varieties.
Sort of “I ve been there – tried this!” or rather
more like been…everywhere! – done all that

The results varying degrees of temporary relief
from a few hours to a day or two the most
with a main side effect attached:
Relocation of Malassezia to another vulnerable area.
To those with only scalp problem it may appear
as a temporary ‘cure’ though no doubt it returns
while to the ones with extended problems
the relocation can be noticed, except
many do not connect a flare up in another area
with the brief scalp relief.

Excerpts from Malassezia Blog Entry:

I believe no matter if Morgellons, Demodex or Malassezia
since all three appear to cause very similar symptoms
it would not hurt trying some harmless natural methods
of treatment to at least alleviate some of the symptoms.. (*2)

K9- “malassezia fungus on scalp leaves skin white”

I am not absolutely sure as to what the Reader
is referring to as ‘leaves skin white’ but i am guessing
it is a coating resulting from dried out Biofilm. (*3)
It would take a number of long- long soakings in hot water
and a good scrubbing brush during – and after
when scalp completely dry. It will be coming off
like snow dust. A good Daily scrub and Acidophilus Mix
for a few weeks should help clear and prevent new built up.

K10- “tiny white hard balls under skin

There was a time back that Both my Legs were

and took a long time and many unsuccessful efforts
with chemical applications that ended up creating
painful lesions. The condition improved steadily
to clearing totally,  since i started long soaking in
the Bath and scrubbing with a nail brush while in it.
I have had No built up ever since, even though
i cannot have baths anymore to soak in
but i still scrub with a harsh face cloth or brush.
I use No chemicals, just a Baby wash
and if needed i apply a splash of Acidophilus Mix
when i feel movement to deter it from settling in.

Malassezia – Get Rid Of…

How to get Rid of Malassezia - MQ

Kill Malassezia -MQ

Q1: How to Kill Malassezia Yeast
Q2: What Kills Malassezia

                      The Individual’s state of Immunity
                       Determines whether the affliction
                         Is a Temporary Brief attack
or Develops into a Chronic condition.

Details of  How and What can kill Malassezia
are outlined in  Malassezia Daily Entries

                  Malassezia Can be Killed

Only Topically and Temporarily

Because

A) It is Part of Natural Body Flora

Malassezia Natural Commensal Flora 1-MQ

Malassezia Normal Skin Flora 2- MQ

B) It is Everywhere in the Body–Externally and Internally

Malasseia Ubiquitous 2

In this Entry i will endeavour to deal to my understanding
with the attributes of the ‘Ubiquitous’
The Dictionary terms of Ubiquitous:
Omnipresent / Universal/ Pervasive/ Global
Abundant/ Permeating/ Ever-Present/Everywhere

C) It is also Ubiquitous-Everywhere-in the Environment

Malasseia Ubiquitous 1

Regarding Malassezia with the help of 2 Microscopes (*1)
I have confirmed:

1) It is Present practically Everywhere on My Body
      – Both Externally as well as Internally.

2-) Samples harvested from different parts of the Body
and viewed under the Microscope indicate that
it Remains Alive and keeps Developing for approx. 3 Days.

By this i assume – but cannot confirm – that as ubiquitous
in the Environment,  although it is both aerobic and anaerobic,
i.e it does Not Require Oxygen for growth
it does Require a Living Host to Develop and Multiply
such as our Skin, Blood and especially the Internal
Intestinal areas that can provide Rich growth elements.

Malassezia anaerobic MQ
So to return to the question of How and What Kills Malassezia
the Answer and Best  Solution – and Personal Endeavour-  is:

a) Rectifying whatever turned Malassezia into a Pathogen
b) Building the Immune System
c) Protecting Natural Friendly Flora

Healthy Diets - MQ

A higher-quality diet, as measured using 3 different
scoring systems for dietary qualities known to reduce
the risk of cardiovascular disease, was associated
with a 16% to 23% reduced risk of needing dialysis
or dying from kidney problems.
Higher-quality diets included those high in fruits,
vegetables, and unsaturated fats.
The researchers also found that high sodium intake
(average of 4.7g g/day) was linked with an increased risk
of needing dialysis or dying from kidney problems….

“Our findings extend the known benefits of healthy eating
and show that the consumption of a healthy diet may
protect from future major renal events,” said Dr. Smyth.
“As dietary modification is a low-cost, simple intervention
it offers the potential to significantly
reduce the burden from chronic kidney disease,
while also protecting from cardiovascular disease.”

The Cholesterol Myth … and your best friend -Your Liver

Hopefully in my last post I established that Cholesterol is
something to be cherished and maintained to ensure a healthy
balance of hormones and other functions within the body,
I will now focus on the LDL – low density lipoprotein,
which is the cholesterol with smaller particles,
and is the type that can cause the arteries to clog
with plaque leading to cardiovascular disease.
As I said in part one– free radicals are formed when we ingest
white fats (Trans fats) in processed foods and snacks,
too much sugar in the diet (including sodas, light or otherwise)
smoking and other bad habits.
The LDL and the VLDL (Very Low Density Lipoprotein)
particles seem to like the bad boys and react with them
making the particles unstable.
They in turn react more aggressively with the surrounding
tissues, including the lining of the arteries in the body called
the endothelium. This will affect the blood vessels with vital
access to your brain and your heart, the carotid artery and the
coronary artery, as well as those to your arms and legs.
Once that damage occurs in the endothelium, as with any
tissue damage in your body, platelets and blood cells
rush to the area, and it becomes a hot spot to catch anything
that is moving through the blood stream that can adhere
to the growing plaque mass. This includes the smaller particles
of LDL that have been compromised by the free radicals.
Obviously over a period of time this will grow to block
the artery, then the blood flow and that is when
heart attacks and strokes are likely…….  ……. …….

Malassezia & Triglycerides

Malassezia & Triglycerides- MQ

 Malassezia and Medium Chain Triglycerides

Medium Chain Triglycerides & M-C Free Fatty Acids

FFattyAcids MQ

Medium Chain Fatty Acids are usually derived from MCTs.

There are different Chemical Structures, derivatives
compositions and Relationships of  MCTs, Fatty acids
Free Fatty acids, Saturated /Mono and Poly-Unsaturated etc
rather irrelevant to this Malassezia Specific presentation
so  i will proceed with selected points.

Some Generally Believed Good points

MCTs 1 -MQ

* Protein metabolism – whatever it means in practical terms…
* Weight loss supplement – as backed by some studies
* Energy Providing
* Contraindicated due to Ketogenesis and Metabolic acidosis
* Inconclusive Results
* Some digestive side effects –such as strong nausea etc

              Some Malassezia Hopeful?

MCTs 2-MQ

(Text Version For those using Translation )

This was based on observation that medium-chain fatty acids
could delay the growth of the seven Malassezia species in vitro,
but alteration of the infusate composition raises safety issues,
clinical trials to determine both safety and efficacy  seem imperative. However the efficiency of this preventive measure has still not been fully explored.

* Could delay growth in vitro
* Clinical trials needed for safety and efficacy (on people)
* “alteration of infusate composition raises safety issues”

Infusate -MQ

A fluid given intravenously over a period of time                                                 for therapeutic purposes

        The Abstract below:

MCTs A 3 -MQ

* Medium C Triglycerides and M C Free Fatty Acids
Are toxic for Malassezia Species (in Vitro)

* Clinical trials needed for safety and efficacy (on people)
The Question again is not just IF it would work on People
but also How Much for How Long…and How Many times

“Commercially available infusions containing
Medium Chain Triglycerides might be used
to prevent Systemic Malassezia infections”

This is just an Assumption as much as is also that
Cream preparations or Oral anti-fungals containing
Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, fluconazole etc
and Sulphur and Selenium shampoos can solve the Problem…

Well… some do… but only very briefly- hardly for a day…
Usually Yeast Relocates quickly to other areas

                       Questions…Questions…Questions…

‘a Nitric Oxide – liberating cream’ and ‘photodynamic therapy’
or what  ‘regionally confined lesions?’ means
in Medical terminology and application is all a mystery…

Possibly a Cream that causes release of Nitric Oxide
applied Topically on Lesions in a particular ‘regionally confined’ ‘area?
But then what is new? – and for how long?
There are so many other items easier to obtain items
that do the same i.e Topically and Temporary’!…

Part of topical therapeutic approach under clinical evaluation
Part of Topical ?… Practical? applicable? during this century?

Also interesting to know if a follow up was done to determine
if there was a Recurrence after healing and how Soon

Malassezia Extra Battle -MQpg

Reader Searching or Returning
to my Original Blog
~Malassezia my Personal Battle~

And an ‘Extra Battle’ it has Been
Extraordinary yet Greatly Successful
Considering my general State of Health.

At this Point of Time i am Enjoying and Celebrating
the Building of a Rare ‘All Favourable’ Planet Alignment
over the past Three Months, of being

* Malassezia Lesion Free
* Malassezia Major Attack Free
* Not a Drop of Lung Blood
* No Fracturing Ribs
And … as unexpected and unbelievable as it can be, also
* Pain Free!… At least for Now… 🙂

Not All happened at once but has progressively converged
to this point like a Gift from heavens.
The News and Message here for the Reader is, that
if such Progress and Improvement can be achieved
in as Beleaguered Body and Immune System as mine
then no doubt, there is
So Much Greater Hope and True Chance
for Anyone being in a much better condition
and with the Right Care applied in All areas as required.

I know of course that the Malassezia Battle will go on
but hopefully with a Lot Less effort and struggle, since
my Body is showing Signs of Steadily taking over
and handling it currently with only Minimal aid
but maintaining a diligent Daily Maintenance, as outlined
in many Malassezia Blog and  Malassezia Daily Entries .

Toward this Purpose i have been working for a while
almost since i developed a better understanding
of how Malassezia Operates and the Immunity Relationship.

So i have been watchfully but Steadily Reducing
first Chemical Use to Practically Zero, as well as gradually
leaving unprotected successfully cleared areas
that are not too vulnerable, once sure Malassezia either
has moved on – or unable to do harm despite its presence.

One example is the Under Breast area where i had 2 major
unexpected attacks-one as a result of New Product Trial.(*1)

I’ m keeping an eye when i feel itchy and Scrub /Wash
with warm water and dry – but do not apply anything else.
I do the same for every cleared area and the plan has been
successful so far without any overnight surprises.

Additionally i have been increasingly Reducing
both Internal and External use of even
All Natural Helpers i had been using liberally
for their Multiple Role, as

* Deterrents and Protectors of vulnerable areas
* Healers of Skin Lesions.
* Providers of Skin Nutrients
* Builders of Friendly Body Flora
* Skin Immunity Balancers

The Aim has been to Facilitate
* Building of Skin Friendly Protective Flora and
* Restoring Balance with Minimal aid Only when needed.

The Plan seems to have been working successfully so far

It has not been a clear straightforward upwards progress
-more like a seesaw one- but if i were to draw
a comparison chart it would be decidedly reassuring

Progress Chart 3 MQ

And while I keep working on it all – in the back of my mind
lurks the knowledge that i am hanging precariously
from a very fragile brunch and at any moment
everything can crumble to the ground again
but i try not to look too far ahead worrying unnecessarily
as i have done during my endless darkest hours…

Malassezia & Herbs internally 1- MQ

Q1: * what herbs taken internally kill Malassezia *

Herbal Supplements MQ

K1: * two spoon of turmeric daily
         to eradicate malessize yeast *

So far i know of , No Herbs or Anything else for that matter
kills or especially – ‘eradicates’ Malassezia

The Dictionary definitions of the word ‘Eradicate’:

eradicate//eliminate/destroy/get rid off/stamp out

I don’t know if the Keyword is a Search verification
of something the Reader was told or read or a question
or even a statement/message the Reader is trying to pass on.
( In this case i would prefer if the Reader sent an email )

Turmeric’s benefits i had read about a long while back.
I bought some from the Spice rack of the Supermarket
but my kidneys could not handle and my man ended up
being the main consumer but it did not do anything
let alone eradicate his Malassezia, even though
his symptoms have always been a lot milder than mine.

Admittedly i never considered giving him or myself
a 2 Spoon Daily dosage – estimating it as rather excessive
so i can neither confirm nor deny the validity
of either potential effectiveness, dosage or result.

Curcumin is reputed to kill parasites.
Therefore, as part of my ‘Targeted Intestinal Brooming’ Diet
I have been consuming 2 TBS Raw Pumpkin Seeds Daily
for over four Months now, also containing Curcumin
–diet findings i will report as soon as i can Safely Confirm
whether it has an impact on Malassezia or not.

I am still ambivalent about the results but i will openly admit
that frequently  – on  periodic weekly basis …
… yes! … i come close to suspect the Curcumin perhaps
suppresses Malassezia proliferation – only to equally fall back
and doubt it has any effect whatsoever…
I Daily hope that it can come to a point i can Safely declare
it does… but unfortunately this has not happened yet…

Some Info about Turmeric from other Sources

Although the Turmeric studies were not specific
to treating Malassezia but several assorted ailments
from Digestive Problems to Inflammatory Conditions
Cancers or Bacteria and Viruses etc, the Precautions
and Specific Points no doubt apply here as well:

Turmeric 1 MQ

Large amounts – Long periods of time = Side Effects
– May Lower Blood Sugar Levels
May act like a Blood Thinner
Stomach Upset

Turmeric 2 MQ
May work in test tubes and animals but Not in People
Active Ingredient may Not be Present or Retained
in Commercial products or in concentration used in studies
Some Studies show Conflicting evidence

I agree in ‘Active Ingredient’ and ‘Concentration’ needed
yet if consumed as part of Natural foods may be effective
even in lower concentration If Active Ingredient is Preserved.
The Individual’s Body is the Best Laboratory to Test
Theory – Reality and Efficacy of application.

Nevertheless, i do Not believe it is possible to ‘eradicate’
a) Because it is a Natural part of Body Flora and
b) Because it has turned into a Pathogen for some Reason
and unless this Reason is Rectified the Problem will Persist.

Malassezia–The First Time…

Malassezia History MQ

Malassezia History -MQ

                            Translated:

K1- “malassezia furfur the first time in 1974”

Well, it appears that the First time was in 1846 Not in 1974
as History suggests together with some Interesting facts…

History

The study of the genus Malassezia
has been dogged by controversy
since it was first described in 1846 by Eichstedt (118).
Dissent has occurred over
* When the organism was first grown,
* The optimal culture medium,
* The relationship between the different morphological
and colonial variants of the organism,
* The genus to which it should be assigned
    and with what name, and
* The role it plays in a variety of cutaneous diseases.

Malassezia History 1- MQ

Malassezia History 2- MQ

 (For those who use Translation)

Eichstedt was the first to describe the fungus associated
with lesions of pityriasis versicolor (PV) in 1846,
when Robin designated it “Microsporon furfur” (367).
but no name was given to it until 1853,
                     ……
By 1970, three species were recognized, P. ovaleP. orbiculare, andP. pachydermatis,
                    ……
The ability to induce the yeast to form mycelial elements paved the way
for the unification of the two genera in 1986,
In 1990, Simmons and Gueho defined another species, M. sympodialis, ….
……
Thus, in the early 1990s the taxonomy of the genus Malassezia was still chaotic,
with different groups tending to favour  their own classification scheme
resulting in an inability to compare work carried out by different groups
This chaos was finally resolved with a seminal publication in 1995 by Guillot and Gueho
They assembled 104 isolates of Malassezia species encompassing all the different
classifications favoured  by different groups  and carried out sequencing
of the large-subunit rRNA and nuclear DNA complimentarity studies.
On the basis of their results, they defined, and later named, seven species of Malassezia
M. furfurM. sympodialisM. obtusaM. globosaM. restrictaM. slooffiae,
and M. pachydermatis. (167)

Dermazene & Metrocream

Malassezia & Dermazene MQ                 K1 * does dermazene kill malassezia *

Two Points i have been consistently trying to drive home
in several  *  Malassezia Daily  *  Entries has been:

1- ‘Even if Something kills Malassezia Topically’
whether a Natural or Chemical Treatment
the Result will only be Local and Temporary

2- There are Treatments that contain ingredients that
after the initial pacifying effect, tend to either
->Attract Malassezia back in the area, or
->Cause it to Relocate in a different area
without actually solving the Problem.

Some of these ingredients include:

Oils, and the Ethyl, Methyl, Acetyl, Alcohol types.

The Difference between Natural and Chemical treatments
is in their Cumulative Beneficial or Harmful Effect
on the Body and Natural Skin Protective Flora

(Text Version below for those who use ‘Translate’ function)

INDICATIONS AND USAGE – Based on a review
of a related drug by the National Research Council
and subsequent FDA classification for that drug,
the indications are as follows:
 “Possibly” Effective: Contact or atopic dermatitis;
impetiginized eczema; nummular eczema; infantile eczema;
endogenous chronic infectious dermatitis; stasis dermatitis;
pyoderma; nuchal eczema; chronic eczematoid otitis externa;
acne urticata; localized or disseminated neurodermatitis;
lichen simplex chronicus; anogenital pruritus
(vulvae, scroti, ani); folliculitis; bacterial declatoses;
mycotic dermatoses such as
tinea (capitis, cruris, corporis, pedis); moniliasis, intertrigo.
Final classification of the less-than-effective indications
requires further investigation.

Many of These Preparations No doubt are good for a number
of varying ailments but as being suitable –let alone- helpful
for Malassezia, this would depend on several factors.
One might be able to get away if it were a case of
a One Off Temporary Flair Up
but i believe that treatments of similar and in general
of chemical type are detrimental for a Chronic condition

It Depends on the Individual’s state of Immunity
which consequently determines
whether affliction is a temporary brief attack
or develops into a Chronic condition.

In which case a Natural Immunity Building approach
would be Preferable and more Beneficial.
