In the Ladies’ photos we can observe

  •                                Top Eyelid:
  •              Some Very Poor Eyelashes
  •              Some Enhanced with Mascara or Liner
  •              Some clearly Exaggerated Fakes
  •                                Lower Eyelid:
  •             Eyelashes Very Poor or Non Existent

Not easy to Find or Detect in Ladies Photos

Gritty or Scaly Layer takes a Lot of Effort and Time to clear
I still have a thin residue from back then and trying hard
to prevent building up by daily scrupulous maintenance

Biofilm around Eyes

My Photos below are the only ones in these Entries
taken by Digital Microscope a while back, to capture
the Biofilm in the early stage when invisible
–the transparent Shiny edge of eye, in Left photo.
Later stage Orange Colour, above the edge, was easily visible.

Nibbling … going on unnoticed?…
It happens suddenly or overtime.
Of note below is the accompanying Biofilm Presence.

Exploring Eyebrow Trouble MF -MQ

I am Not diagnosing Malassezia
-easy yo see, yet hard to be certain-
as there might be other Skin Conditions
causing the above appearances.
I am indicating similarities with Malassezia
and associated Symptoms such as:

  •  Poor or Thinning Eyebrows
  •  Poor Top Eyelashes
  •  Scanty or Non existent Lower eyelashes
  •  Gritty Encrusted layer on Top Eyelash beds
  •  Surrounding Biofilm
  •  Biofilm presence (or dirty /darker shadow)
which point to likely Malassezia Presence

The Symptoms presented in the Nail and Eye Photos
of (possible) Malassezia, may also be found
with careful observation in One’s Own Photos
simply taken by ordinary or iPhone camera
and viewing on the computer.

In Google Image below – i have intentionally modified the Iris

without interference, how Normal, Strong Eyelashes should look.
Light Mascara appears to have been applied to enhance the look
but still looking Strong and Healthy – even if without
– unless they are … implants? – but do not appear as being so.

Another possibility: If photo taken by special magnifying lenses
the look could be deceptive, as i noticed with mine below (blue)
-the only one taken by Digital Microscope- where the lower
lashes look Impressively Rich and Dark! 🙂
Any how,  the photo above was chosen only to illustrate

Malassezia Healing Lesions and Scars on Back

Malassezia Lesion healing 1 -MQ
All Photos in this Entry are simple Phone Camera Shots
neither magnified as when under Microscope nor Enlarged for details
and still easy to see
– Widespread Orange Biofilm
– Red Healing Lesions
– Healed Lesion Scars
The least of my worries back then was whether the Scars would be
permanent – in fact i very much expected they would be –
but the majority have totally cleared and any remaining
are very faint, hardly visible at all.
Great really considering that back then the Lesions were
frequent, large, extended, fairly deep and lasted near 4 weeks
compared to the occasional tiny, pimple size ones that may
sneak up nowadays that usually last for a few days.

Malassezia Healing Blisters under Breast (1)

Below the First of Two major attacks i have suffered throughout

Blisters under Breast 1 -MQ
The Blisters shown above were already in a healing stage.
The initial affected area was much more extended.
The Left side shows the Gray -Drying and Dying- Biofilm.
If Scrapings were examined under Microscope they would reveal
still virulent hyphae ready to create more Blisters if left undisturbed.

Malassezia Healing Blisters under Breast (2)
The Second of the two major attacks.

Blisters under Breast 2-MQ
It was primarily caused by a forced Malassezia relocation
from Scalp due to a Shampoo and another Product change.
Much more severe than the First, quite extended and painful
but this time with the right treatment the healing process was faster
and surprising, it left No trace of the event behind it.

Below stage 2 – on the Recovery

Blisters under Breast 3-MQ
The Redness and Inflammation still strong but Blisters smoothed
and area around it clearing. The hardest part was to keep away
new batches attracted to the inflamed area.

Malassezia Blisters under Breast 1- MQ

                          Stage 3 and 4 Recovery

Malassezia Blisters under Breast 2- MQ
Fast Progress and steady Clearing – Miraculously No scarring…

Malassezia Biofilm on Shoulder and Neck

Malassezia on Neck and Shoulder 1 A-MQ
Widespread Biofilm on the Skin making it look dirty
and if layer is thick makes the Skin dry as it dries out
and feels rough to the touch like a desert Lizard.
Some Itchy Redish areas still visible (circled).
If not interrupted have the potential to develop into Bumps
and eventually break out into Lesions.

More on the Legs below

Dry Skin 1- MQ
The Skin looks dirty and distinctly Bumpy in the covered areas
but smooth and lighter where free.
It starts Orange or Semitransparent but turns Gray as it dries
and much  harder to clear off.

                           Malassezia Biofilm on Feet

Malassezia on Feet1- MQ
Much the same as above – areas affected marked with arrows.
Initially it causes a Burning, Itchy sensation, then as the Biofilm
dries and its ready to dig into the skin it feels like it is crawling
on the surface.
At this point it must be scrubbed off before it causes problems.

Malassezia Head to Toe (1) – A

Malassezia Head to Toe 1A -MQ
                  Malassezia Affecting Eyelashes (1)

Blepharitis 2-MQ
The Eye area Provides many elements vital for Malassezia,
   such as:
Hair Follicles
– Moisture
– Natural Eye Fluids
A naturally preferred Malassezia area  during periods of stress
or diet related dehydration and a refuge for when trying
to control and contain
a Scalp problem bombarding the head
with chemicals and medicated shampoos.
None Kills Malassezia on Impact  -if at all- and therefore forced
to re-locate to another area- Ears and Eyes the two closest ones.
If there is a general weakness there, it is liable to settle
and start a Cycle of Blepharitis.
The photo above  is one testament of such a Cycle
which i have been fighting periodically to this day
– only now i know how to keep it under control
and prevent it causing the problems evidenced above.

Malassezia Affecting Eyebrows 1A-MQ

Starting from the Eyebrow, we can observe parts
                  Thinned out and Missing.
In the Photo below the Top Eyelid is Swollen and Red

Blepharitis 2-MQ

So are the Eyelash beds Top and Bottom.
Particularly noticeable is the total lack of Eyelashes
on the lower part while on the top they are poor
with thinning gaps in between.

Malassezia Affecting Eyelashes (2)

Eyelashes 1 -MQ
Closing the Eyelids can observe the built-up of Malassezia
at the Gritty solidified stage. Very hard to clear it off
and takes time when it has reached this well-embedded stage.
(See earlier Entries for Grit view under Microscope)

Malassezia Affecting Eyelashes (2 -2)

Eyelashes 2-MQ
Eyelid Stretched to maximum for easier view of details.
Top Eyelid shows how densely imbedded is the Grit
-took me a while to realise what it was doing and by discovery time
it was too late for effective clearing – so i concentrated on prevention
and deterrence while gradually clearing the crusty Grit.
The Bottom part shows the scant presence of eyelashes
and looking carefully, several Bumpy areas as indicated by the arrow.

Malassezia Liquid, Grit and Discolouration

Malassezia in Eye and Eyelashes 1 -MQ
In Photo above, white circles are Microscope light Reflections.
Dark Cream Arrows point to Malassezia at the Liquid stage.
It is transparent but clearly visible and distinguishable
with an in-between water and jelly, look and viscosity.
Gritty particles on the Eyelashes, in both photos, i.e a later
more advanced stage – as well as Eyelash Edges Discolouration.

Malassezia Liquid and Orange Stage of Biofilm

Malassezia Biofilm on Outer Surface -MQ
On the Left –Orange Arrow point to Orange spread of Biofilm
on the outer part of Eyelid and on Right, red semicircle points
to Transparent Liquid stage. Under Microscope it shimmers
and constantly changes positions and shapes.

Eyelashes Before and After Treatment

Blepharitis 1-MQ
The Double Photo above shows the Two States
of Before and After Triple Action Healing Treatment

1- Daily Cleaning Maintenance
2- Daily Deterrent Application
3- Healing and Eyelash Enriching Treatment

Scalp Recovery and Rich Hair Growth

Hair and Scalp 1 - MQ
At the time when my Hair had started falling off
-fast and in clumps, estimating i had only a few days left
to act before going bold – i was in too much distress
to think of taking any photos.
The Photos above are at a Total Recovery stage of Scalp
clear of Redness, Burning, Itch, Bumps and Sores
and A healthy Rich Growth such that the scalp
was not visible through anymore (photo 3)
Back then i used Lethal Drastic Methods
for which i Paid a Price and learned a Lesson
but have maintained control and containment since
with a much healthier way of care and maintenance.

Malassezia Bumps and Lesions on Outer Ear and Face

Bumps on Face - MQ
These Photos above were also from earlier times
when i had suffered repeatedly some really vicious attacks
in the outer part of the Ears and the Crease point at back.
I scrub meticulously there every day to dislodge and interrupt
any attempts of Malassezia settling in the area.
There was also some brief time i had Facial Bumps
and some -but not all- opened into bleeding lesions.
Both areas have been trouble free in recent times
but i have been keeping a vigilant eye.

Malassezia Bumps and Sores on Lips (1)

Sores on Lips1 -MQ
They can be easily mistaken for Cold Sores or Herpes
because they have similar Blister Cluster look, symptoms
and duration and usually strike during Colds, Flu, Fever
which cause dehydration and lowered immunity.
They both last approximately 3 – 4 weeks.
During those times as described above
i find difficult to tell with certainty which one it is
except perhaps that Malassezia, does not stop just there
but spreads well in the peripheral skin area
of mouth, chin and cheeks.

    Toe Nail after Malassezia Attack

Toe Nails View 1-MQ

This Poor Toe has suffered a full decade of Malassezia menace.
The story started years back – a short time after starting
long term Antibiotic Treatment for my Lungs.
Not knowing what it was back then – and for a long – long time
i kept bombarding it with antiseptic Oil antiseptic greasy Creams
Ointments and All the wrong things that Strengthened Malassezia
and aggravated the problem to the point where i lost the entire
nail several times. Typical proverbial behaviour of
‘Keep doing the same thing expecting different results”
but to my defence, there is something warped about the Brain
that believes that Oil somehow can kill everything
even to obvious contrary outcomes and results.
In this instance ‘feeding the enemy’ while ‘killing the victim!’
Eventually i learned what the problem was and was quick
to turn around and discard my misconceptions.
( I know many of my Readers still cannot resist the concept
and impulse of a ‘Bit of Oil’ or  ‘This type of Oil or that…’
Repetition and time will eventually convince…)
Actually this photo is from a latest attack when accidentally
smeared Oil on it during an ‘Oil Experiment’ and allowed it
to stay on overnight been too tired to attend to it properly…
Yes, you read correctly!… Oil Experiment…
( Full Story in Malassezia Blog   )

Accelerated Toe Nail Healing during Treatment

Toe Nails View 4-MQ
Once the wrong treatments were stopped and the right ones applied
the healing was much faster than all previous times, usually taking
many months with long setbacks in between.

Healing Toe Nail protection during Treatment

Toe Nails View 5-MQ
Because most severe and uninterrupted attacks take place at night
when Malassezia is more active and our body in a less alerted state
i always take proactive measures to deter it from settling there
and starting a new lengthy cycle.
During the healing stages i wrapped it with Acidophilus Mix
on a Cotton wad and sealed it with Sports tape.
Now, being completely healthy i often dare leaving it uncovered
even at night but usually sensing activity there i cannot find peace
of mind so i still cover it with a Cotton wad and deterrent agent.
(Noting here that Malassezia is both aerobic and anaerobic
meaning it can survive without oxygen, so covering it with just
band-aid does little to protect – may deter briefly from settling
but the glue on it is also attracting and inviting
so a more active agent is needed. Details in Malassezia Daily

Stages of Recovery

Toe Nails View 2-MQ

Toe Nails View 8-MQ
The Double Photo above shows the state of Full Recovery
and Two of the three Stages of Recovery during Treatment.
Photo below shows All Four Stages of Recovery – Start to End

Toe Nails View 8-1MQ
Photo 1 – Shows Fragments of Sick Dead Nail Remained.
I kept cutting out what was progressively coming loose
to help clearance and accelerate healing and new growth.
Photo 2 – Cuticle loose and (not clearly visible here) some
new growth of a few millimetres from the root area.
Photo 3 –  Fresh smooth, clean growth covering 2 /3 area
still some partly affected but recovering nail at the top.
I kept cutting when possible to clear and accelerate growth.
Photo 4 –  Fully Recovered – still some Orange affected
clearing out and replaced by new.
Cuticle Restored, closed and tight, doing its job protecting
from Invasion. Brings tears to my Eye, women consistently
punish it by cutting back for the sake of some ill perceived
concept of Beauty – and i know some of you Readers will
hate me for this remark but Malassezia and other Myces
love what you are doing Both to your Finger and Toe Nails
making their entrance so much easier… and then laughing
off all the antiseptic creams and lotions thrown at them
as i did persistently myself for a near decade …
Is Beauty – if it can be called so- worth the trouble
this action may initiate?
Consider this:
How beautiful does a Toe Nail like the one in the first Photo
look like?…
The fungi and Myces do not simply and accidentally                                             find their way there – They LIVE there!
That’s why Nature created a Stopping Door – The Cuticles!…

           Finally Toe Nail Fully Recovered

Toe Nails View 9-MQ
Now This looks Beautiful to me and cannot have enough
looking at it …and hardly believing i finally managed to Heal it!
                                    Absolutely Precious!

Below additional Notes regarding a detail in a Photo above

Left Side Photo – a Lightened version for clearer detail viewing
Right Side Photo – Original unclear version

Toe Nails View 8-2-MQ
The Photo above was taken at night in my Bathroom
with lights on using my low, only 3mp Phone camera.
Obviously, poor lighting produced a greeny- blue background
-actually our white bathtub wall- and also a greeny- bluish hue
on the Cuticle and part of the Nail, as well as on the base of
some of the smaller toes. Initially i was puzzled and thought
there might be some bruising so i checked closer and it looked
quite clear, i pressed and did not feel discomfort or swelling
then i thought the bathtub is bright white, not blue, therefore it
must be the poor lighting and poor camera combination
but i am not dismissing the possibility that the hue on the Toe
might be Gray ( = dead) Malassezia Biofilm
as it does persistently attempt to make a mess out of it, Lol!
One good reason i always protect it at night.

            Malassezia Lurking Unnoticed on Toe

Toe Nails View 6-MQ
This is my Man’s Toe – at first sight looking nice, clean and tidy.
-except perhaps to the …trained Eye – i.e… Mine! 🙂 that notices
that there is No trace of Cuticles  – and i can assure you
… he does not do the Beauty thing! Lol! 🙂
and Zooming the Photo reveals the Evil Presence around the edges
but in his case remaining unnoticed and uneventful… until!….
A small accident produced blood and inflammation in the area
and the devil quick to the opportunity, attacked and took hold!
I told him to let me attend to it but he wanted to finish the job first
despite warning him by then it might be too late.
And it was… Below is what followed…

Toe Nails View 7-MQ
Within hours the nail was dead and separated from the nail bed.
Fortunately for him he had an Experienced Healer at home 🙂
and restoration took less time than it would have normally
and it had a good ending. Details in Malassezia Daily

Malassezia Solidified Grit under the Nails

Finger Nails View 8-2MQ
Back when i took these Photos i was looking for the Liquid stage
presence and a ‘Before and After’ treatment effect.
There are two white Liquids dots (circled above) and None visible
on the Right but i had entirely missed the two more advanced
stages present, i.e. the Orange colour faintly showing on the Left
Photo in the groves of the skin but even the more prominent
solidified Grit collected under the Nails. (Red Arrow)

Malassezia Gray Biofilm under the Nails

Finger Nails View 7-MQ
Gray Sticky Biofilm, looks like Nails are dirty and hard to clean.
This Nail belongs to my Man, he washes his hands like a beaver
they always look immaculately clean and he is neither a tool man
nor a gardener so the Gray view was a surprise.

Malassezia Corrosion of Nails and Cuticles (1)

Even now looking at the Photo on the left
find it hard to see these nails as not clean and reasonably healthy.
The cuticles are on the thin side but intact
and no marks visible on the Nails but appearance is deceptive.

Malassezia Fungus on Finger Tips 1-MQ
Had it not been the Devil that it is, it would have been an absolutely
fascinating experience watching it Alive and moving constantly
and changing shapes, under Digital Microscope.
These white spots in the Photo above and the ones to follow below
were shimmering much like the sunlight keeps moving constantly
on the surface of the Sea.
A few seconds, then sensing the light or heat of the Microscope
ducked quickly under the skin surface and disappeared.
A few more seconds then started to reappear – checking?-
repeated a couple of times then all fell quiet as in photo below

Malassezia BuddingYeast Stages-BloodHyphae–A

Budding Yeast Stages A-MQ
Malassezia Budding Yeast in Lung Blood (1 &2)

Malassezia Budding Yeast 1-1MQ
I have had periodic indications of Malassezia Presence
in my Lungs but unable to confirm until i finally obtained
a Fluorescent Green Sputum and examined a Blood sample
under the Microscope.
The Fluorescent Green i was quite familiar with
but the look of the photo above without Hyphae or Spores
looked rather uncertain except for what looked like a possible
formation of a Budding Cloning Collaret ( see green Arrows below)
which prompted me to leave the sample in the same spot
under the Microscope to examine at a later stage for signs
of development and confirmation of the Collaret indication.

Malassezia Budding Yeast 1-A-MQ
Here we can see a developing elongation of the shape
and Collaret forming. Even though i initially thought
there were no Spores visible, observing the size
of some still developing buds (Black arrows)
they most likely are Spores at an early development stage.
Behind the cluster of Black arrows two smaller also distinctly
elongated buds can be observed.

Malassezia Budding Yeast in Lung Blood (3)

Malassezia Budding Yeast 2-MQ
The Photo above shows more clearly a developing Collaret.
No more development was observed after the third day
without a host to provide nutrients and other elements …

Malassezia Budding Yeast Comparison with Google Images

Malassezia Budding Yeast 3-MQ

Malassezia Budding Yeast in Faecal Sample (1)

Malassezia Budding Yeast 6-MQ
This too was a Recent Sample as the ones above
and -compared to those of much earlier times- highly confusing!
No plateful of a usual ‘Spaghetti and Meatballs’ i.e Hyphae
and just a number of too Large and too Fatty looking
spherical shapes to be Spores (meatballs).

* Looking for a familiar Repetition it never occurred to me
back then they might be Spores … in Development stage…
* I was also more familiar with the earlier Robust Fungal Form
not realising that the changes and improvements
had perhaps affected a change to its Yeast form.

Malassezia Budding Yeast in Faecal Sample (2)

Malassezia Budding Yeast 8-MQ
View of a Second Sample produced similar results
except that it contained one lonely isolated Hypha
shown in the Photo below

Malassezia Budding Yeast in Faecal Sample (2-2)

Malassezia Budding Yeast 5-MQ
I guess the Hypha is a tell tail linking indication of Budding Yeast.

Malassezia Budding Yeast in Faecal Sample (2-2)
Leaving the Sample on the same spot under the Microscope
for a later observation provided more “Budding Yeast’ evidence.

Malassezia Budding Yeast Augmentation 7-MQ
The Buds shown in Top Photo had augmented to touching point
closing the gap of distance between them.
Fat Globules could not have done that…

Malassezia Biofilm Galore – A

Malassezia Biofilm A-MQ

Malassezia Biofilm in water Containers

Malassezia Biofilm Layer 3 -MQ
Above two containers i have used under a 10 Ltr Urn
installed in my Bathroom to supply steady hot water 24/7
– more economical than drawing from the hot water tank.

Urn

The purpose is to catch water while cleaning my hands
after dealing with Malassezia in different offended areas.
I empty and rinse the container after every use
but noticed it still tends to build a base and rim
around the walls after a few days.
The above ones were deliberately left to stand with water
until half full before emptied and not cleaned
for a number of days for the conduct of an experiment.
The Colour of Base and Rim while the Biofilm was Fresh
was Orange and turning Gray when started to die.
I repeated the experiment with the wash basin
to see if there would be similar results
being a wet area but without collected or standing water.
The Photo below shows repeat of both colours and stages.

Malassezia Biofilm in Sink – Test

Malassezia Biofilm Layer 4 -MQ
Both Orange and Gray can be observed but there is a difference.
Starts Orange as usual but appears to turn Gray faster here
in the outer drier areas while closest to where the water drains
it remain Orange longer wile in the buckets where there is
frequent collection of water it stays Orange much longer.

                  Malassezia Biofilm on Cabinet Handle

Malassezia Biofilm Transfer on Items1-MQ
A New – All White Cabinet installed in my Bathroom.
Body still milky white as in first Photo (left) but the Handle
also milky white originally, has picked up the Malassezia
Orange, especially the bottom part where my hands touch
several times daily.

             Malassezia Biofilm on Pool Sides

Malassezia Biofilm Layer 5-MQ
There is a Malassezia and Pool Entry in Malassezia Daily.
The Orange Gray is easy to see in the Photo
and i have seen it Daily for a Decade at ‘eye to eye’ closeness
when i was used to swim but did not know back then what it was
–other than the commonly referred to as ‘Built-up Scam’
and wondering why the Chlorine was not clearing it…
For the same reasons it was not killing it on my Body!

Malassezia Biofilm on Vest after Perspiration

Malassezia Biofilm after Perspiration1-MQ
Gray and Dead.  Yet, No Soaking, Washing Powder or Chlorine
can clear it off the Vest – or any other piece of Clothing
from Underwear to Bed Sheets.
When Gray on Clothes it looks like Mould
and when Orange it looks like Rust – making clothes fit
for the Rubbish where they normally end up.

Malassezia Biofilm on Undies after Perspiration

Malassezia Biofilm after Perspiration2-MQ
The same as above, washed off by Perspiration on the Clothing
and nothing can clean it. Usually worse during Summer time
especially on items that come into direct contact with the skin
so i buy bulk and when affected i throw them out.
Of course, considering the Contents and their Potential
despite Biofilm being Gray and Dead
-Contents still being alive and virulent!-
it is better to spill on Clothes than stay on the Body…

Malassezia Gray Biofilm on Bath Stepping Stool

Malassezia Biofilm Transfer on Items 3-MQ
A good eye opener about the incredible adhesive quality
of the Biofilm: Any illusions about thorough cleanliness
-earned by Soaking for One full Hour in a hot Bathtub
while Brushing,  Scrubbing and Scraping diligently
every inch of the beleaguered Body- then there is nothing
like the Devils Gray ‘Footprints’ to Shutter them!
Actually the Footprints are mine for the few brief seconds
i step on the Stool getting out of the Bath, while the Gray
is the Devils Biofilm … laughing at my face and whispering
from under my Feet “ And you thought you got Rid of me? ”
If the Pool Chlorine does not faze it and if a Bath like mine
which by the way sometimes back contained industrial strength
killers – but not anymore!- it speaks volumes about the little
creams and oils many rely upon for treating it…
Remember, i have Been there!…

Malassezia Biofilm on Dress after Perspiration

Malassezia Biofilm after Perspiration3-1-MQ
And here is the ‘Rust’ i was talking about and which was
to blame for thinking our washing machine was causing it
even though it was not really old but promptly replaced anyway
while the Rust … kept re-appearing despite! Lol!
Funny really, looking at the photo it pretty much looks like
a true Imprint of a Paper Cut Scratch Line (compare Insert)
and i am inclined to believe it likely had the Potential
if Perspiration had not washed it off my Skin.

A Good Question here is:
If an Hour’s Hot Scrubby Bath cannot wash off sticky Biofilm
how come Body Temperature Perspiration can wash it off
onto Clothing /and Bed wear?
My Guessing assessment is:
One cannot tell for sure but one thing i know
and have mentioned in several of my Entries,
is that i have observed and taking advantage
of the a simple fact that : when it is very Fresh
and before it settles on the skin it comes off easily
with warm water and a harsh cloth and even with
a cotton wad for delicate areas such as eyelids, etc.
Therefore, i am guessing that what washes off on clothes
is fresh and this also explains why despite Perspiration
i feel sticky all over – and that does not come off easily!

Malassezia Biofilm on Cotton Wad Wrapping

Malassezia Biofilm Transfer on Items 2-MQ
The Cotton wad wraps above were used to protect
my vulnerable to attacks Toenails during the Night.
This is an exhibit from the bright Lime Green era, Lol!
Had the Wads not been well Soaked thoroughly through
with some good … Ol ’Dophilus protection
there would have been tears in the morning for sure…
( More details in Malassezia Daily Blog)

The Series of Photos Below show the Biofilm
in a more solidified fatty blob like stages.

Malassezia Fatty Blob on Cotton Bud (1)

Malassezia Fatty Blob 1-1MQ
This was Viewed and Photographed under Digital Microscope.
No ordinary camera could capture that – let alone my phone one
even though often similar copies of this had been visible
to the naked eye or using magnifying glasses.
Deceptively worm looking like had me wondering back then
before Malassezia identification.

Below a Magnification of the Photo for viewing detail

Malassezia Blob Collected from Ear (3)

Malassezia Blob 3-MQ
Again the Elongated Worm looking like shape
but in a later Solidified Crystalline stage.
I was in doubt back then about it because of its larger size
in comparison to previous ones and had not connected yet
all the stages of its transformation.
Unfortunately the Purchase of the Biological Microscope
that helped piece things together followed sometime
after the Digital one and i missed the chance to examine
its finer details, i e any Hyphae or Spores etc.

Malassezia Fatty Blob Collected from Eye

Malassezia Blob 4-MQ
A Repeat of Shape and fatty looking consistency
this time collected from the Eye.
Two stages can be Observed here. On the left side
we can see an earlier stage of semi-transparent Liquid form
and on the right side the Thicker Fatty looking one.

Malassezia on Cotton Wad Inserted in Ear

Malassezia Biofilm on CottonWad 1-MQ
I have spoken in earlier entries about the one time that Malassezia
gave me trouble in the inner part of the Ear.
Above is a Cotton wad with Acidophilus i had inserted in the Ear
and when i took it out i was mystified about its Rich Green colour
– one of the many that followed during that period that coincides
with an almost All Green Diet* i was in at the time.

* The Green Diet may have partly contributed
but was not the Only cause of the Fluorescing appearance

2- Hyphae at different Stages, with Blood or Spores
3- Spores in Hyphae, in Eyelets or Scattered

The Long beaded Hyphae were Not a Surprise – Their Colour was!

Malassezia Liquid and Hyphae in Eye3-MQ
When suddenly the Colour of the Biofilm changed
from the usual Orange to initially light Lime
and progressively to a much richer Green i could only suspect
my then near one year High Sulphur Natural Green Diet
affecting all Malassezia phases and appearances
with sample after sample containing some part looking
like a Young Green Frog!
There have been several months since a changed diet
from Rich Green to now Predominantly Orange
and the colours are back in the Orange scale again,
so it appears whatever elements in the Greens were utilised
by Malassezia were contributing to its different … outfits! Lol!…
The Eye liquid was collected during the Green Diet period
and thus the Long Green Hyphae.
Was Malassezia perhaps parading a possible fact
that Sulphur does not faze it???

like Fatty Blobs. This of course is due to the still present
but not visible to the naked eye, Biofilm.

The almost constancy of shape from ear samples is quite puzzling

I am guessing the earlier ones were of the Fungal Form
while the above might be of the Yeast Form – but cannot be certain.
The Circled area shows Blood.
This i consider as confirming a couple of things:
1- Malassezia can complete its cycle either internally or externally
2- It digs into the intestinal walls for Blood
3- Needs and /or utilises Blood for Reproduction
and possibly -but i am Not sure
for providing Spores with Sustenance Nutrients.

Malassezia Hyphae Free Pubic Hair

Pubic Hair - MQ
This is the Result of Consistent Treatment.
Despite Regular Malassezia Traffic in and out of the Genital area
All Pubic Hair Strands Examined show
– No Hyphae
– No Trace of Biofilm
– No Blood
– No Semicircular Shapes
– No Spores – on them.
Of course it can be deceptive in regards to Spores
but certainly No pieces of Biofilm or Hyphae visible
and this is a Biological Microscope view.

I would say this is a Thumbs Up! Thumbs upmoment

I m Happy

Malassezia Hyphae Stages (1) – A

Malassezia Hyphae 1A- MQ

   Malassezia Fully Developed Hyphae

Malassezia Hyphae 1- MQ
A Rich well developed handful of Malassezia Fungal Hyphae
harvested back at the initial stages when it was thriving on me.
The Typical Nodules -perhaps points of reproduction? –
helped Confirming its Identification of which i was grateful
as at the time i could not have done it on my own.
Not visible in the photo, due to iPhone poor quality camera
attached to the Microscope viewer,  are the Spores
surrounding the Hyphae, giving it its signature
“Spaghetti and Meatball” look – whoever named so!…

I am saying perhaps ‘points of reproduction’ because
the Hyphae seem to be branching out to different directions.

Malassezia Unfolding/Developing Hyphae -1

Malassezia Unfolding Hyphae1-MQ

Early Stage – Only One well developing Hypha visible

Malassezia Unfolding/Developing Hyphae -2

Malassezia Unfolding Hyphae2-MQ
A more advanced Stage when more Hyphae have developed.
All ready to suck Blood from whatever surface they attach to.
A new thought or rather question i am having right now is:
Is it possible that the Hyphae can absorb nutrients from a source
without necessarily needing to attach onto it– such as inside the Intestines – though i know for sure they Do attach on the walls
and blood shown in later photos confirms it

Usually New Hyphae look Red and filled with Blood  but is it
possible they perform a dual role under different circumstances?…
(I shall add this to the long list of unanswered questions, Lol!)

Malassezia Unfolding/Developing Hyphae -3

Malassezia Unfolding Hyphae3-MQ
Another One in a similar Stage as the above with some Hyphae
looking Maroon Red  – an Indication they are filled with Blood.
Again the Poor quality camera is a hindrance to clearer vision.

Malassezia Unfolding/Developing Hyphae -3-2

Malassezia Unfolding Hyphae3-1 -MQ
Both Photos above presented side by side
for Comparison of Shape,  Look and Development Stages.

Malassezia Unfolding/Developing Hyphae -4

Malassezia Coloured Hyphae1-MQ
This is the Tail Part of the Left side Photo presented above
showing clearly some Blood filled Hyphae
as well as other colours at different stages of the Hyphal cycle.

Malassezia Hyphae in Faecal Sample -1

Malassezia Hyphae Feacal Sample1- MQ
Abundance of well-developed Hyphae in Faecal Sample.
The Plethora of  Spores showing under Microscope
is not visible due to poor quality iPhone Camera.

Below a Zoomed section of the above Photo Shows clearly

Malassezia Hyphae Feacal Sample1- 1MQ
some Large – very Long Hyphae threaded among smaller ones

Malassezia Hyphae in Faecal Sample -2

Malassezia Hyphae Feacal Sample2- MQ
Much like above, abundance of different sizes Hyphae.
What is also prominent in Both Samples
is the protective Orange Colour Biofilm in which Hyphae are
wrapped in, while some get gradually exposed as it dries out
– seen in the Zoomed section below

( Click on Photos to enlarge)

Malassezia Biofilm and Hyphae in Feacal Sample- MQ
A New –On the Spot as i am Typing – Thought /Observation, is:
Since this was a Faecal Sample collected … form the source, Lol!
and placed immediately under the Microscope and therefore
no time delay allowing for any of the contents to dry out
it appears that the Biofilm may dry out irrespective of
dry external environment or humid / wet internal
presumably in order to Facilitate
a) Exposure of the also eventually drying and dying Hyphae
    to consequent
b) Release of the Spores – into the environment
(I cannot think of a better explanation about it at the moment )

Malassezia Hyphae in Vaginal Sample

Malassezia Hyphae Vaginal Sample1- MQ

In the Zoomed version of the Photo, below

Malassezia Hyphae Vaginal Sample 1-1- MQ
Some Very Long Hyphae can be observed
extending from the main Shape  (similar in look to the insert)
as well as Biofilm surrounding it (Circled)                                                                  (Click on Photo to enlarge)

Below – Photos of Recently Collected Samples

              Malassezia Hypha in Ear Sample

Malassezia Hypha-Ear 1-MQ
There is nothing much to be said about this isolated Hypha
seen in an Ear Sample but what i do find worth mentioning
is that considering the Malassezia traffic into the Ear cavity
it is puzzling that it does not appear to affect either hearing
nor cause Lesions in the inner walls.
It might be that the ear wax prevents it from digging into
the surfaces – i cannot think of a better explanation.
On the contrary, it had given my outer Ear surfaces a hard
time when i was using medicated shampoos and it was
relocating away from the scalp, forcing me to use swimming
Aqua Drops to kill it and as a consequence causing
a terrible mess both inside the Ear and outside.

                  Malassezia Scalp Hyphae

Malassezia Scalp Hyphae1-MQ
A Bunch of them scattered and not attached to anything.
Zooming the photo to full screen they look drying up.

               Malassezia Red Hyphae

Malassezia Red Hyphae1-MQ
These ones on the Contrary, look Alive and Blood Filled.

Malassezia Hyphae Comparison of Different Stages

Malassezia Hyphae 2-2 MQ
1– Is Active and Blood Filled
2– Looks Filled with Spores and Drying up
3-4 Empty and Dried close to Disintegration Stage

Malassezia Hyphae on Leg and Nail Clippings

Malassezia Hyphae 3- MQ
1- Hypha on Leg looks empty and drying up
Some Pieces of detouched Biofilm
can be seen near the Hypha at the Top
2- Similar ones in the Nail clippings
One appears to contain Spores
but the Photo is rather blurred so i am uncertain.

Malassezia Hyphae at Disintegrating Stage

Malassezia Hyphae 4- MQ
This Hypha is at the final end stage of disintegration.
Only the end bit is left but what i find strange
is that it does not look empty as they usually do
but still solid and totally black.
The black is more likely to be dried Blood
and perhaps that’s how the Blood filled ones look
when they die if for whatever reason
before they have completed their mission.

This of course raises another question:
Do All Hyphae go through the same processes
during each Stage of their Life Cycle
or is there some form of functional differentiation?

More of them in different stages of development – in the same area.
Blood and Spores are clearly visible and an indication
Malassezia utilises Blood for Reproduction.

Malassezia Inside Hair Follicles – 3

Bumpy Hair Follicles 2-MQ
A Cluster of them well protected under the Surface of the Skin
during development – producing maddening Itch
as they are releasing corrosive chemicals.

Malassezia Inside Hair Follicles – 4

Bumpy Hair Follicle Lesions-MQ
Some have started to break into Lesions.
The colour observed is a mixture of Dark Blood from the Lesions
and Black from a Charcoal Tablet i had used
hoping to either Kill or Sooth the Itching.
I had not discovered back then what could do Both
with No Pain or Discomfort and until i finally did
i suffered greatly and repeatedly                                                                  while trying one Bad thing after another.

Malassezia Hair Follicle Lesions on Inner Buttock

Lesions on Inner Butocks 1-MQ
Large, Fully Broken Lesions, Burning and Itching
causing Agonising Pain, especially when in contact with water
especially the different chemicals i was testing back then.

Malassezia Scratch Line on Inner Buttock – 1

Scratch line on Buttock 4A-MQ
First Stage of Scratch lines often appear as lined up Spots.
Some barely visible clusters of bumps can be observed
in between Burst Points – which if uninterrupted                                     connect as they develop and it turns into a Line
as will be observed in the Following Photos.

Malassezia Scratch Line on Inner Buttock – 2

Scratch line on Buttocks 1 A-MQ
Visible in this Photo are some affected Hair Follicles
and a Long Scratch Line with the top part (Left)
breaking into Lesion and Blood and Bumpy incubation
in the other half (Right)

The Bottom Part is Forming a Cheesy Center

Malassezia Scratch Line on Inner Buttock – 4

Scratch line on Buttock 3A-MQ
Scratch Lines on Arms and Other areas including Genitals
spring spontaneously to the surface and feel Burning,
Stinging and Itchy but are much smaller and thinner
compared to the ones inside the Buttocks.

Above a Deeper and Longer Scratch Line
freshly broken into Lesion indicated by the Raw Red Blood

             Malassezia Scratch Lines on Arm

Two Spotted Crossing over Scratch Lines on the Arm
Not as Big or Deep as the Buttock ones
but as Ferocious in Stinging and Burning.

        Malassezia Scratch Lines on Thumb

Scratch line on Thumb A-MQ
Still smaller and looking more like accidental cuts to the naked eye.
They sting – especially so in water.
Several Entry Points can be observed
and Surrounding Orange Biofilm (circled)

             Malassezia Blood Pin Prick

Pin Prick -MQ
They are usually Pinhead size and their appearance is preceded
by a Brief  Sharp Pin Prick sensation.
They  are only visible on lighter, softer parts of skin
such as the Inside part of the Thighs, or Belly areas
while on the rest of the body only felt as brief sharp pinpricks.
Sometimes only once and in some areas
– in my case such as the soft part of a Toe-
the Pricks can be repeated at frequent intervals.
I believe it tries to dig a little deeper in stages
but i usually get on to it immediately to interrupt
and prevent incubation.

Malassezia Lesion on Face 1-MQ
A Shallow, Surface Lesions on the Face below the Ear.                                                       Visible Characteristics:
– Corrosion of the Skin and Erythema (Redness/ Inflammation)
– Orange Biofilm forming a Cheesy Lesion
– Whitish Liquid stage Malassezia
Once a Cheesy Lesion is formed it is hard to dislodge
becomes embedded in the Skin commencing hyphal reproduction lasting  approximately 3 1/2 – 4 weeks

Malassezia Bumps on Face and Lips
Malassezia Bumps on Face and Lips -MQ

The Bumps can be Itchy or may not – Usually they are.
In due course they may be absorbed by the Body
but most frequently they break into Blood Lesions.
Itchiness and Crawling sensation may be felt
due to  development of Hyphae sucking Blood
most likely for Reproductive Purposes.
Blisters On Lips may be mistaken as Herpes or Cold Sores.
* Hyphae views under Microscope show filled with Blood.

Malassezia Coloured Hyphae1-MQ

Hyphal or Cloning  Reproduction                                                             lasts approximately 3 ½ to 4 Weeks
unless proper treatment is applied which can minimise
duration to approximately 4- days – maximum a week.

Malassezia Healing Lesion on Arm

Malassezia Lesion on Arm 1-MQ

Looks Blood Brown Crusty and this is what it is
but if Picked before it is totally dead and the skin healed
it can bleed again and attract  new activity in the area.

Malassezia Bumps and Lesions on Labia

Malassezia Bumps and Lesions on Labia 1G-MQ

Very Itchy and Painful in that area
due to the Sensitivity of the Skin.
Broken Lesions Sting badly when Water
or Urine come into Contact.

Malassezia Purple Bump on Labia – 1

Malassezia Bump on Labia 1 G -MQ
The Purple Colour is due to accessibility of Rich Blood Supply
in that area which Malassezia uses during incubation
and the type of transparent appearance of the Skin.
It eventually brakes into Itchy, Burning Lesion.

Malassezia Purple Bump on Labia – 2

Malassezia Bump on Labia 3G -MQ
Looking very carefully Smaller Multi- Bumps can be observed
inside the Main Bump. Three double ones on the Left side
and Two on the Right. It is not unusual but it looks more
pronounced than the Skin coloured ones.

The Next Three Photos, also in the same area show different
stages of progress from Bumps to Lesions.

I only use Natural treatments in recent times
much more effective against Malassezia and harmless to Skin

A double Multi Bump in the early stage of Development.
– The Surrounding Skin area is Red
– Bumps appear still Flat at this stage.
– Two very distinct Black Specks can be observed.
They are Entry Points –  and the Real Colour is dark Maroon
i.e Dried Blood as seen under Microscope.

Malassezia Developing Multi Bumps – 2

Bumps with Black Specks 2A-MQ

                           A more advanced stage.
It is hard to tell if the Faintly visible Black Dots surrounding
the Outer area (circled) are also tiny black/maroon specks
of multi Entry Points or scattered Spores.

Malassezia Flare Up Caused by Stress on Leg

Lesions on Leg 1A-MQThis is my Man’s Leg and one of the more severe Flare-ups
he has experienced after the sudden Loss of his Father
at a time i was also perishing myself – too much for one

the immune System and that caused Malassezia to flourish.
Visible in this Photo are
– Drying up Flaky Skin and Biofilm (Circled)
– Red, active Lesions
– A Scratch Line (Inside rectangle)
