Malassezia – Get Rid Of…

How to get Rid of Malassezia - MQ

Kill Malassezia -MQ

Q1: How to Kill Malassezia Yeast
Q2: What Kills Malassezia

                      The Individual’s state of Immunity
                       Determines whether the affliction
                         Is a Temporary Brief attack
or Develops into a Chronic condition.

Details of  How and What can kill Malassezia
are outlined in  Malassezia Daily Entries

                  Malassezia Can be Killed

Only Topically and Temporarily

Because

A) It is Part of Natural Body Flora

Malassezia Natural Commensal Flora 1-MQ

Malassezia Normal Skin Flora 2- MQ

B) It is Everywhere in the Body–Externally and Internally

Malasseia Ubiquitous 2

In this Entry i will endeavour to deal to my understanding
with the attributes of the ‘Ubiquitous’
The Dictionary terms of Ubiquitous:
Omnipresent / Universal/ Pervasive/ Global
Abundant/ Permeating/ Ever-Present/Everywhere

C) It is also Ubiquitous-Everywhere-in the Environment

Malasseia Ubiquitous 1

Regarding Malassezia with the help of 2 Microscopes (*1)
I have confirmed:

1) It is Present practically Everywhere on My Body
      – Both Externally as well as Internally.

2-) Samples harvested from different parts of the Body
and viewed under the Microscope indicate that
it Remains Alive and keeps Developing for approx. 3 Days.

By this i assume – but cannot confirm – that as ubiquitous
in the Environment,  although it is both aerobic and anaerobic,
i.e it does Not Require Oxygen for growth
it does Require a Living Host to Develop and Multiply
such as our Skin, Blood and especially the Internal
Intestinal areas that can provide Rich growth elements.

Malassezia anaerobic MQ
So to return to the question of How and What Kills Malassezia
the Answer and Best  Solution – and Personal Endeavour-  is:

a) Rectifying whatever turned Malassezia into a Pathogen
b) Building the Immune System
c) Protecting Natural Friendly Flora

Malassezia & Triglycerides

Malassezia & Triglycerides- MQ

 Malassezia and Medium Chain Triglycerides

Medium Chain Triglycerides & M-C Free Fatty Acids

FFattyAcids MQ

Medium Chain Fatty Acids are usually derived from MCTs.

There are different Chemical Structures, derivatives
compositions and Relationships of  MCTs, Fatty acids
Free Fatty acids, Saturated /Mono and Poly-Unsaturated etc
rather irrelevant to this Malassezia Specific presentation
so  i will proceed with selected points.

Some Generally Believed Good points

MCTs 1 -MQ

* Protein metabolism – whatever it means in practical terms…
* Weight loss supplement – as backed by some studies
* Energy Providing
* Contraindicated due to Ketogenesis and Metabolic acidosis
* Inconclusive Results
* Some digestive side effects –such as strong nausea etc

              Some Malassezia Hopeful?

MCTs 2-MQ

(Text Version For those using Translation )

This was based on observation that medium-chain fatty acids
could delay the growth of the seven Malassezia species in vitro,
but alteration of the infusate composition raises safety issues,
clinical trials to determine both safety and efficacy  seem imperative. However the efficiency of this preventive measure has still not been fully explored.

* Could delay growth in vitro
* Clinical trials needed for safety and efficacy (on people)
* “alteration of infusate composition raises safety issues”

Infusate -MQ

A fluid given intravenously over a period of time                                                 for therapeutic purposes

        The Abstract below:

MCTs A 3 -MQ

* Medium C Triglycerides and M C Free Fatty Acids
Are toxic for Malassezia Species (in Vitro)

* Clinical trials needed for safety and efficacy (on people)
The Question again is not just IF it would work on People
but also How Much for How Long…and How Many times

“Commercially available infusions containing
Medium Chain Triglycerides might be used
to prevent Systemic Malassezia infections”

This is just an Assumption as much as is also that
Cream preparations or Oral anti-fungals containing
Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, fluconazole etc
and Sulphur and Selenium shampoos can solve the Problem…

Well… some do… but only very briefly- hardly for a day…
Usually Yeast Relocates quickly to other areas

What sounds a Little Promising to me due to:
“Resulted in Complete Healing… with a rapid correction of…”
– again my guess is on a Temporary basis-  is

Nitric Oxide LC1-MQ

                       Questions…Questions…Questions…

‘a Nitric Oxide – liberating cream’ and ‘photodynamic therapy’
or what  ‘regionally confined lesions?’ means
in Medical terminology and application is all a mystery…

Possibly a Cream that causes release of Nitric Oxide
applied Topically on Lesions in a particular ‘regionally confined’ ‘area?
But then what is new? – and for how long?
There are so many other items easier to obtain items
that do the same i.e Topically and Temporary’!…

Part of topical therapeutic approach under clinical evaluation
Part of Topical ?… Practical? applicable? during this century?

Also interesting to know if a follow up was done to determine
if there was a Recurrence after healing and how Soon

Some may go Coco…nuts having read the above

And So would I – if i did not know any better…

Do i sound Sceptical?…
Well, Yes… I Am!

“Could delay growth in vitro”
‘Delay or Suppress growth’ does Not equate with Kill

Malassezia–The First Time…

Malassezia History MQ

Malassezia History -MQ

                            Translated:

K1- “malassezia furfur the first time in 1974”

Well, it appears that the First time was in 1846 Not in 1974
as History suggests together with some Interesting facts…

History

The study of the genus Malassezia
has been dogged by controversy
since it was first described in 1846 by Eichstedt (118).
Dissent has occurred over
* When the organism was first grown,
* The optimal culture medium,
* The relationship between the different morphological
and colonial variants of the organism,
* The genus to which it should be assigned
    and with what name, and
* The role it plays in a variety of cutaneous diseases.

Malassezia History 2- MQ

 (For those who use Translation)

Eichstedt was the first to describe the fungus associated
with lesions of pityriasis versicolor (PV) in 1846,
when Robin designated it “Microsporon furfur” (367).
but no name was given to it until 1853,
                     ……
By 1970, three species were recognized, P. ovaleP. orbiculare, andP. pachydermatis,
                    ……
The ability to induce the yeast to form mycelial elements paved the way
for the unification of the two genera in 1986,
In 1990, Simmons and Gueho defined another species, M. sympodialis, ….
……
Thus, in the early 1990s the taxonomy of the genus Malassezia was still chaotic,
with different groups tending to favour  their own classification scheme
resulting in an inability to compare work carried out by different groups
This chaos was finally resolved with a seminal publication in 1995 by Guillot and Gueho
They assembled 104 isolates of Malassezia species encompassing all the different
classifications favoured  by different groups  and carried out sequencing
of the large-subunit rRNA and nuclear DNA complimentarity studies.
On the basis of their results, they defined, and later named, seven species of Malassezia
M. furfurM. sympodialisM. obtusaM. globosaM. restrictaM. slooffiae,
and M. pachydermatis. (167)

Malassezia - Propylene Glycol - MQ

                 K1 * propylene glycol Malassezia *

One of the main Malassezia Characteristic Symptoms
is a Burning Sensation on practically any Skin area
but with varying intensity depending on immune response
and Individual’s sensitivity.

What Propylene Glycol Is and Side Effects

Propylene glycol Malassezia MQ                                               Click on Images to Enlarge

 Considering  …

“Women suffering with yeast infections may also notice
that some OTC creams can cause intense burning.
Post menopausal women who require
the use of an estrogen cream may notice
that brand name creams made with propylene glycol
often create extreme, uncomfortable burning
along the vulva and perianal area.”

That alone should be a Contra-indicator to any usefulness
or help and most likely a cause of additional aggravation
in regards to Malassezia.

K2 *pyrenel foam side effects  *

I don’t know if this Keyword was entered inside my Blogs
Reader returning for specific details in an Entry,
or one entered in a Search engine such as Google,
Yahoo, etc in which case it may not have been intended
for Info in my Blog – but since i have mentioned
Pyrenel Foam shampoo for Scalp and Blepharitis treatment
Only IF/when Absolutely Necessary
i might as well clarify here its use for Malassezia:

It is a Head Lice treatment
I have only used occasionally for the Scalp and Eyelashes.
It contains OILS – Counter productive for fighting Yeast-
but it is the only one which seems to affect Clones
due to containing Butoxide – allowing a couple of days
of peace before the cycle starts to build again…

    Only IF/when Absolutely Necessary

Due to

* Chemicals and Oils promoting activity and proliferation
* Relocation from Scalp to Eye Problem itself
as outlined in Malassezia Daily Entries

INTESTINAL BACTERIA 1-MQ
INTESTINAL BACTERIA 2-MQ

( Text Version for those using Translation)

All people have trillions of bacteria living in their intestines. If you place them on a scale, they weigh around 1.5 kg. Previously, a major part of these ‘blind passengers’ were unknown, as they are difficult or impossible to grow in laboratories. But over the past five years, an EU-funded research team, MetaHIT, coordinated by Professor S. Dusko Ehrlich at the INRA Research Centre of Jouy-en-Josas, France and with experts from Europe and China have used advanced DNA analysis and bioinformatics methods to map human intestinal bacteria.

The gut is like a rainforest

Oluf Pedersen compares the human gut and its bacteria with a tropical rainforest. He explains that we need as much diversity as possible, and – as is the case with the natural tropical rainforests – decreasing diversity is a cause for concern. It appears that the richer and more diverse the composition of our intestinal bacteria, the stronger our health. The bacteria produce vital vitamins, mature and strengthen our immune system and communicate with the many nerve cells and hormone-producing cells in the intestinal system. And, not least, the bacteria produce a wealth of bioactive substances which penetrate into the bloodstream and affect our biology in countless ways.
