Quick YES – NO Answers to Readers’ Questions

Quick YES – NO Answers to Readers’ Questions

Malassezia Q & As -MQ
A Brief Addressing of Previously Presented Issues

Q1- “can you get pityrosporum on your lips”
Q2- “crawling sensation around the rim of my lips with bruising”
YES, also on Eyebrows, Eyelashes, Nostrils etc
Basically the Entire Body -not just isolated areas- is its Planet.
Samples collected and viewed under 2 types of Microscopes
Display its Presence in all Different Stages and Characteristics.

Q3- “what causes labia prickling”
Malassezia does
But this does Not Exclude Numerous Other Possible Causes.
Prickling sensation is felt when it starts to Dig into the Skin.
In the Yeast form Temporary Reddening and Pain may follow
with no other symptoms. In the Hyphal Form it creates Lesions
that unless interrupted they remain Active and Reproducing
for approximately four weeks.

Q4- “is scalp yeast infection contagious”
YES, but all depends on the Individual’s Immune System
whether it becomes a problem or not – considering that
Malassezia is Present at All times on All People’s Bodies
but kept under control by a Normal Immune System.

Q5- “is melassezia contagiuos to other dogs”
Q6- “is malassezia contagious between pets”
I cannot answer this question with certainty
I only assume and extrapolate it might be similar to humans
i e Depending on the Animal’s Immunity Strength

Q7- “morgellons symptoms do they include matted hair”
This Question can only be Answered by those
who Name their Symptoms and Condition as ‘Morgellons’.
Morgellons -so far-is Not Medically Recognised
either as a Cause or Condition.
Malassezia causes Matted Hair
I Cut mine Regularly and Keep Short
to minimise Biofilm and Spore presence and accumulation.
I have written several Entries regarding Morgellons’
Possible Misdiagnosis or Connection with Malassezia
and Hair /Scalp Care in MB & MD Blogs

Q8- “why are parts of my vagina purple black”
Malassezia Symptom and Possible Cause
-Not excluding Other possibilities-
as it Burrows under the skin creating Blood Blisters
and drawing Blood for its Reproduction Requirements.

Q9-” is my trich due to Malassezia”
If by ‘Trich’ Reader means Trichotillomania
-What a Confusing term!- 😦
Malassezia is Considered to Cause or Contribute to it
as it causes Burning and Itching and a strong Urge to Pull the Hair
offering a sense of relief, something i experienced strongly
but briefly during a bad stage of Scalp Infestation
so i am only able to verify the Connection
but not to determine the Cause of Trichotillomania
as there have been other causes attributed to it
Of course when one goes to a Specialist with Malassezia
they come out with an ‘Its All in your Head/Nerves etc’ diagnosis
termed ‘Delusional Parasitosis’, so who knows…
Trichotillomania, may be a similar victim of Specialist ignorance
but in this case i might be too in regards to it
as i have not delved into any Scientific explanations about it.
I have written more and included info links about Trich
in the Parent MB and MD Blogs.

Q10-” is demodex slimy”
Q11-“can demodex leave scratch marks on skin”
I am not sure what are these questions specifically referring to
Q10- I am not sure what is the Reader specifically asking
-Slimy as having a Biofilm? – Slimy in itself ? – Slimy mess on Skin?
Demodex is not a Yeast and i don’t know if it creates Biofilm.
Some Photos on the Internet -if correctly diagnosed as Demodex-
indicate a local mass appearing as ‘Fatty’ or Slimy
but i have no personal experience on how it looks or feels.

Q11- Again, is the question referring to the equivalent of
Paper Scratch Marks of Malassezia – or General Scars?
From Internet Photos -if correctly diagnosed as Demodex-
the Bumps and Lesions appear similar
but i have No personal experience.
(More in Related earlies Demodex Entries)

Q12-“what does malasserzia feed on”
I have not found specific information regarding its ‘Food’
I have thought about this question a lot and in connection
with the only Information i have found in regards to it

Malassezia Composition1 MQ

The Purpose of Food /Feeding/Eating is to Build and Sustain a Body
– Specific to each creature. Creature ‘Eats’ – Body ‘Utilises’
If we Interpret the word ‘Uses’ as i have described above
then we can say it Requires these elements and the question then
is shifted to: How Does it Obtain them?
Many of the Questions asked by Readers can be answered
in a Number of Entries –Each dealing with the topic in Different ways
or from Different angles. That is why i have been saying that
if one is truly interested to know and not wanting quick shallow answers
has to devote time to Read through – Not ‘Scan’ through quickly…
This topic especially is one of them and so is the one below.

Q13- “foods that cause malasezzia yeasts”
I am not sure if any foods can ‘cause’ Malassezia
since it is Part of Natural Body Flora
but Some, such as Cooked Indigestible Fats, Refined Sugars, Alcohol
certainly contribute to its proliferation especially in combination with
other factors such as Constipation, Colon Congestion, Poor Fibre intake.
( More in Related Earlier Entries)

Q14-“can malassezia furfur affect the digestive system”
Although i have been Sceptical about its Survival in the Stomach
i have experienced a few incidents when my entire mouth has felt
coated with its specific strong smell and bitter-sour taste of its Biofilm
right down to the oesophagus and to a miserably sick stomach
that holds ‘slimy’ food for hours as if not knowing what to do with it.
As for the rest of the Digestive tract from the small to the large Intestines
and the Final part of the Internal Anal area, it thrives growing hyphae
and Utilising readily available Nutrients.
I don’t know how long or If it eventually survives the stomach juices
but for the rest of the digestive tract there is No Doubt in my mind
that Interferes and Robs, if not even Damaging the walls given a chance.
I have Published Sample Photos under Microscope showing hyphae
and Blood presence. (See Entries in Photo Analysis Category)

Q15- “where does malassezia come from”
Lol!…   An Evil …Stork brings them of course 😀

Stork

It appears the Answer might be:
‘It is Practically Everywhere’

Malasseia Ubiquitous 1

(You Didn’t think all these ‘Typos’ in R-Qs are mine Did you? TOC
Of course Not…  I announce mine especially – I just enjoy the Fun)

I intended ‘Quick YES – NO’ Answers but i found it impossible
due to the nature of some Questions to strictly do so.
I also intended to address only New Keywords or add new elements.
I find though that having already presented many Q Topics

throughout my Primary Blogs, this creates unnecessary extra work
so this is the end of addressing any Q Topic Repetitions.

Malassezia-Antibiotics and Other Chemical Treatments

Malassezia-Antibiotics & Other Chemical Treatments

Malassezia Antibiotics and Chemicals

K1- “pityrosporum folliculitis treatment on forehead with Vaseline”
K2- “enzymes that eat Malassezia”
Q1- “can selsun gold shampoo kill fungal spores in skin and hair”
Q2- “does isoporpyl alcohol kill malasezzia”

Some of these Keywords i have already addressed in earlier Entries here
and All of them Several times and in Length in Both ‘Parent Blogs’
so i shall address them here only briefly.

K1- “pityrosporum folliculitis treatment on forehead with Vaseline”
Vaseline is not a suitable treatment for this particular purpose.

Re-Pertoleum Jelly- MQ

              Vaseline Being Petroleum jelly
and Malassezia thriving in Grease and Jellies
it would classify as in the inappropriate use category.

K2- “enzymes that eat Malassezia”
I don’t know if there are any kind of Enzymes obtainable
other than the Digestive ones, which had No effect whatsoever
on Malassezia either Consuming Internally or Applying on Skin.

I initially got the idea they might work and to trial them
because pets lick themselves when they are wounded
and because … i too had tried the direct trick once! …
applying saliva on a small lesion and found some quick relief
-but not a clear indication saliva enzymes killed.
Back then i was desperate and prepared to try Anything
even if it could killed me… I am much wiser now…

Q1- “can selsun gold shampoo kill fungal spores in skin and hair”
NO- It can Not. I still use it once in a blue moon.
Among the Numerous ones i have trialled i have only found One
that appears to do so or does better than all others.
I have written in detail about Both of them in earlier Entries

Many Topics have been discussed or expanded
in the “Keyword – Questions” Categories, in this site
and in  Malassezia Daily

Q2- “does isoporpyl alcohol kill malasezzia”
Not unless Malassezia is fully immersed in it.
I have written in detail about it in Both Malassezia Parent Blogs.

K3- “care after applied dettol to scrotum”
Ouch!…this must have hurt!…
Dettol is no good and most especially for this area.
More Details in Both Parent Blogs

K4- “monistat for parasites mites”
K6- “malassezia by antibiotics”
Keyword K4 refers to parasite mites
But i shall address it here
a) because the Reader may be referring to Malassezia as parasites
in which case i must clarify that it is Not a Parasite as such
but Part of the Commensal Body Flora, and
b) because Monistat is Prescribed for Yeast Infections
which makes it Relevant anyway.

Quick research into Monistat:

Monistat (Miconazole Nitrate) is an Azole antifungal

Monstat 1-MQ

I wonder why one should consult their Doctor /Pharmacist
before using it, if they have frequent vaginal infections
since it is Prescribed as a Treatment for Yeast Infections?…

Could it be because of this Statement below, regarding
increased risk by antibiotics, considering Monistat IS an Antibiotic?

Monstat 2-MQ

And this does not apply only to Vaginal Yeast Infections

Antibiotics and PityroReinfestation -MQ

I have already written in Details in Earlier Entries in Both Parent Blogs
about my Personal Experiences and Results regarding
the Azole Antifungals in their different types and uses

………………………

Azole – Definition of Azole by Medical Dictionary:
A family of synthetic broad-spectrum antifungal antibiotics
–including ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole.

(Many More – Not included above)

Adverse effects N&V, anorexia, rash, pruritus,
nonspecific liver enzymes, anemia, leukopenia,
thrombocytopenia, headache, etc
Drug interactions Plasma levels of azoles are by antacids,
H2-receptor antagonists, sucralfate, isoniazid, phenytoin, rifampin.
McGraw-Hill Concise Dictionary of Modern Medicine
© 2002 by The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.

(The Two in Bold are TB medications)

………………………

K5-” toxic side effects of malassezia treatment”
I have written in Detail about All treatments i have used
Results and side effects throughout, several times and in All Blogs.
It would be impossible to put all this in one Entry here.

K6- “malassezia by antibiotics”
My Entire Story right from the Start Blog 1 some 6 years back
has been the Basis of the Effect of Long Term use of Antibiotics
Not Only in regards to Malassezia turning from
Harmless Commensal Flora to a Torturing Pathogen
but also the General Devastating Effects upon my Entire Body
and the Limited capabilities and Disjointed ways
it is now left to Operate with as a Result.
I am Paying a Price i had Never envisaged or Imagined possible
and the main Reason i have practically turned
into a Natural Health Evangelist type of Preacher
in the hope that my shared experiences and hard learning
might help informing and possibly saving others.

I shall repeat and conclude here saying:
All the Chemicals – Antifungals – Antibiotics
we Use for whatever Reasons or Causes, Internally or Externally,
have a Cumulative Effect on Our Body, Its Major and Minor
Organs and General Immunity Systems, i.e Different types
of Protective Systems – Internal and External.
NONE can have ANY Permanent Effect on Malassezia
due to its High Chances of Recurrence
while Adding to the Immune Imbalance.
Restoration of Immunity is the ONLY way to Permanent Cure
i.e Converting Malassezia back to a Commensal State
by suppressing its Proliferation and ability to grow to Hyphal Forms.
I have Proved it Can be done to a great Degree,
-Earlier Sample Photos compared to Recent ones, adequately indicate so-
but it is too late for me to achieve a complete reversal.
I strongly believe, Many people in better condition
and without major underlying illness can achieve that
if only willing and having the strength to apply and adhere
to Strict Discipline – Compared to a Continual battle
with the Potential to get worse under adverse circumstances.

Digging Holes in the Skin!

Digging Holes in the Skin!

Malassezia Digging Holes-MQ

One Characteristic i have mentioned in Earlier Entries
is how Malassezia seems to lodge in an area persistently until it devastates it
and then it abandons it for quite some time –until … its next chosen time.
I have Speculated it might be that, that particular area does not provide
anymore the elements it needs for continuing its multiplication
but one rather hard to confirm.

One Consequence i have mentioned in Earlier Entries, is of applying any
Deterrents -Chemical or Natural- that do not Kill it on Impact
thus allowing it to Relocate to a different area.
Whether its Relocation in the new area attracts New batches,
or some part of that particular batch Unaffected by treatment
manages to Reproduce and start a new cycle there, is Unclear to me.
The Relocation though IS clear and fairly quick, usually to the closest
areas to where treatment was applied, if caught in the initial Mobile stages.
If already settled and solidified, depending on treatment, it dies off gradually
or creates a big -and often painful-mess.
One good reason for acting Sooner rather than later.

One Maintenance Rule i apply, also mentioned in Earlier Entries, is that
when i manage to clear an area -either by voluntary departure or consequence
of …war!- once i am sure, i reduce or cease application of deterrents/healers etc.
and allow the Skin to build its own Resistance – until the next round 😦
The same i apply to Less Vulnerable areas where i can feel Temporary Traffic
but usually not followed by trouble, i just wash the area with an old, rough
face cloth and leave as is, without further protection.

Coming now to the Surprise of the Nasty built of an Overlooked situation:

Namely … the Holy Foot!… TOC

Whether it was the Characteristic or the Consequence or part of the Rule
i am not sure.  The story goes like this: For a few days i was fighting something
and had slightly raised temperature – this drew the yeast in the Genital area,
which prompted me to increase protection there.
As a Consequence it moved away. Then my Temperature went further up
and whatever it was, my Body cleared it and all was restored, including reduction
in protective measures and when i was sure it was all quiet i completely stopped.
Simultaneously though, i noticed after the recovery stage that there was
systematic traffic under my Foot. Having never had any Lesion problems there,
i thought it best to wash and leave it alone so that it won’t return back up
to the privates or Relocate to more vulnerable or sensitive areas.
As it is hard these days to reach easily my Feet and see the underneath
i attended  to the area without Looking or applying Protection Day or Night
                                                        BIG MISTAKE!
By the time i started to actually Feel Pain and Burning and all the Familiar signs
of TROUBLE , it was Too Late!… It had engraved an …Embroidery of Evil work!

Puffy Swelling – Blood Holes – Cheesy Centers

Malassezia on Foot 2-MQ

Photo1: Puffiness, Swelling around Blood Spot of developing Lesion
Photo 2: Puffiness, Swelling in Raised area, circled, creating two parallel
vertical creases in between Big and Little Toe
Photo 3: Cheesy Centers –shown by arrows

The Swelling indicates accumulation of Liquid/Biofilm under the Skin Surface
meaning until all erupts upwards nothing can affect it except Peroxide
but i could not withstand the hours of Immense Pain let alone the Mess
it would leave behind, so i was applying different options.
During the Day i  still washed when i felt activity or itchiness, then dried
and instead of using talc which can be absorbed through the open wounds,
i used a large Cotton Wad to Pad the Foot, Absorb Moisture
which attracts it and Dry Malassezia as it erupted upwards.
This also Prevents Temporarily New Batches settling in the area.

If i still detected activity i alternated Seawater or Acidophilus Mix.
Too much Acidophilus gives me headaches due to the encapsulating
agents and sugars, so i usually try to keep low usage during the Day
and increase when necessary, or at Night time.

At Night i empty an entire Acidophilus Capsule in a New Cotton Wad
and use Dropper to soak it with Wet Mix, to Work and Protect.
Once Malassezia has Passed the Spore stage
Acidophilus has the upper hand!

All Activity and Lesion Expansion in the area has now Ceased
and is in the Healing Stage, so i am keeping a vigilant eye
and making sure it is Dry at all times.

    Normal, Healthy Look of Eyelashes

In Google Image below – i have intentionally modified the Iris
to cover fancy lenses attracting attention, in order to display
without interference, how Normal, Strong Eyelashes should look.
Light Mascara appears to have been applied to enhance the look
but still looking Strong and Healthy – even if without
– unless they are … implants? – but do not appear as being so.

Healthy Eyelashes-MQ

Another possibility: If photo taken by special magnifying lenses
the look could be deceptive, as i noticed with mine below (blue)
-the only one taken by Digital Microscope- where the lower
lashes look Impressively Rich and Dark! 🙂
Any how,  the photo above was chosen only to illustrate
what Healthy, Strong Eyelashes should look … without tricks!

so the Reader would see clearly what i mean
but i am dead against publishing children’s photos on the Net.)

Nails –What the Photos Reveal  (PT1)

Ever since the Startling Surprise
of Viewing my Perfectly Healthy looking Nails
under the Digital Microscope
i have become obsessed with detecting
similar -deceptive- appearances in other people’s
Perfect looking –or not so– Nails and … Eyelashes!

So i compiled a Collection of Famous People’s Photos
selected Randomly from Popular Web Sites, Ads
and Google Images, initially from mere personal curiosity
and comparison and then progressively considering
whether it might be of interest sharing the observations.

Although All of them were displayed openly to the Public
and have been viewed by thousands of people
every possible care has been taken
to Remove any associations with Web Sites
and Reduce to absolute minimum, identification
of Nail or Eye owner – not an easy task overall…

I am starting with Nails first because if i publish the Eyes
i may have a Ninja visiting through our veranda at night
1 tongue on cheekto serve me with a silent, Revenge bullet in the scull
before i have a chance posting about the Nails… 😛

Finger Nails View 2-MQ

My Observations on Various Collected Photos

Blood Spots – Inflammation – Biofilm

The edges of the Nails look painted white
and presumably Cuticles have been trimmed back
making hard to judge their state of health and quality
but i can see clear signs of trouble – marked in Photo 2:

(Click on Photos to enlarge )

Exploring Nail Trouble1-MQ

  • Red arrows ~> indicate Blood Spots Under the Nail
    i.e Malassezia dig-in entrance points.
  • Curved lines ) indicate injured – Nail Root inflammation area
and drying Biofilm on Skin surface – also present on Second Toe [ ]
as well as widespread Biofilm presence on Foot surface
-marked by arrows below- looking like dirty patches of skin.

Blood Spots – Inflammation – Corrosion

Exploring Nail Trouble2-MQ

I will assume the Ragged Nail edge is due to poor Filing
and not Poor Nail health, though i am much inclined
to believe it is the second…

Inflammation – Corrosion – Biofilm

Exploring Nail Trouble3-MQ

These being a gentleman’s Nails, i presume there was no
intentional Cuticle pullback, therefore their complete absence
is due to Fungal Corrosion, observed on All sides of Nail
with prominent inflammation areas and widespread Biofilm
on fingers and hand  (intentionally cropped off original photo)

All Three Photos display prominent Fungal Corrosion
along –eaten up– Cuticles, dark area 2 &3 (orange – ( -circled)
of indicative Nail root Inflammation and Biofilm on surface
and Third photo shows additional widespread Biofilm
on base of finger ( ( circled in red – (– )

Cuticle Corrosion as in the above photos.

Exploring Nail Trouble5-MQ

Ladies Nail problems are more difficult to detect
because they are usually covered by nail polish
which conceals but can also potentially initiate
or definitely aggravate an existing condition.

Trimming or Pulling back the Cuticles opens area
to vulnerability and is issuing a deadly Invitation
to Fungal problems that once they start and set in
require a lot of effort to contain or reverse
and always subject to chronic recurrent attacks.

Malassezia Immune bypass - MQ
K1 – “slithering sensations and high temperature”
Despite Laboratory Research finding that Malassezia
bypasses detection by the Immune system as in:

———————    text     ♣     version       ———————
Unlike most pathogenic micro¬-organisms,
which provoke an in¬flam¬matory response in their host
Malassezia slip under the radar of the immune system,
having an immunosuppressive effect.
Malassezia’ s ability to modulate the immune system
may explain how
it is able to grow so successfully on healthy individuals
as a part of the normal skin flora.
 (medscape.com/viewarticle/589255 2)
   ———————               ♣                    ———————

it appears that when there is an Outbreak
the Body somehow Detects its presence and activity
and Raises the Temperature, not necessarily to Fever levels
but by a degree or so above the individual’s normal.
I have also noticed that sometimes it does the opposite…
Drops the Temperature Briefly to near hypothermic levels

Cold 1

usually with accompanying Shivers and Catarrh.
It could be a Response to Malassezia and/or Body
Toxins or Inflammatory Chemical Releases
– i am no expert at that – only an ardent observer
of Frequently Repeated Patterns of my Body Responses
and Supporting Confirmations by my …Thermometer

Thermometer -MQ

Regarding the Keyword above:
and Assuming
a) It is a Malassezia case in regards to the Slithering sensation
b) The High Temperature is in Relation to it
It could be that either
a) Temperature, was caused by Flu, Cold, Infection etc
and set the Yeast in Motion, thus the Slithering sensation, or
b) Yeast –Outbreak– caused the rise in Temperature

Slithering is usually felt in the Genital/Anal/ inner Buttock area
or as warm liquid spreading outwards from these areas
actually being Sticky rather than feeling wet!
This i believe is due to the Early Stage Liquid quality of Biofilm.
It feels and IS Sticky and comes …in Colours!(+)

K2 – “malassezia sticky chest”
K3 – “glitter and black specks in skin”
I Believe ‘glitter’ refers to the Fresh Sticky Biofilm.
Black Specks are Entry points where Malassezia Digs in
and starts to draw Blood via Filaments/Hyphae
as part of its Cloning process(+)

Malassezia Bumps with Black Specks 2-MQ

(+) See Related Entries in Malassezia Daily)
The Specks may be on Bumps created by Malassezia

K4 – “hair matted in sticky scalp scale infection
The ‘Scale’ is formed by either
Dried layers of Biofilm, from where spores are released, or
Solidified stage Malassezia –usually developing Hyphae
and creating ‘burning’ itchy lesions.
Hard to tell which just by brief Keyword Description
and without any other accompanying details.
In any case, Scalp requires thorough Soaking in warm water
followed by brushing to break down Scaling
and remove Sticky Biofilm.
There will be plenty left behind, spores etc
deep in the Hair Follicles which will require time

and repeated treatments(+) and maintenance(+) to relieve area.

“Malassezia Caused Oedema and Bruising – PT3”

Malassezia caused Oedema -Bruising 3-MQ (HTML)
To Read First: Malassezia Caused Oedema and Bruising – PT1”
Malassezia Caused Oedema and Bruising – PT2

So we started the Treatment and what followed was as
astonishing as in some Previous occasions when
Treatment brought Live Creature against Live Creature
locked into Collision and Combat
(One Mighty Helpful – the Other Mighty Evil)

Every evening my Man’s task was to

Apply Acidophilus Mix on each Leg
from below the Knee area right down to my Toes.
Then Cover the Top of each Foot with a Cotton Wad
  soaked through with Acidophilus Mix
Wrap each Big Toe with Cotton Wad
  also soaked through with AMix
Secure with a Long Strip of Cloth or Gauze
Put on a pair of Tight Socks

I had to use some of his old motorcycle boot socks
because my feet were too swollen and painful, near impossible
to squeeze into any pair of mine no matter how old or stretched.

And then came the Test and Verification -the War had started
as i had anticipated – but not the way i had expected it…

Within 2 Minutes from Application, there was Response!
My Legs started to Sting as if bitten by dozens of Wasps
and Jerking with uncontrollable Spasms.
Muscles Pushed and Pulled Repeatedly in Painful Cramps
while the Skin Surface Burned like Acid Fire eating into
the flesh – On and On and On for a Full 15’- 20’ minutes.

This Torture was repeated Night after Night after Night
and for the first Three weeks nothing else happened.
No visible or felt change other than the Painful and
uncomfortable battle between Malassezia and Acidophilus.
Then all suddenly the battle duration started to get shorter
and shorter down to 5 mins and the Swelling to decrease fast.
It took approximately 6 Full Weeks at least with still some
resistant puffy pockets remaining and several persistent
attempts of new batches – dealt and stopped by the A Mix.

Then a Blessed morning …or should i say my Blessed Man
just before departing for wok, lingered and then went
behind my chair and gave me a quick head massage!
And from the next morning onwards he established
a longer head and back massage routine.
Within a few days this started to produce what every other
treatment had failed to the date, i.e miraculous, unbelievable
Fast and Lasting results of Pelvic, Spine and Kidney Recovery
and consequently Pain Relief and a Lazarus resurrection
into walking and wheeling the wheelchair as well as resuming
some of my personal care and even duties.
I could finally raise the armchair footrest and thus my feet
rapidly returning back to their normal Cinderella size.

Lets not get too carries away though…
There is No ‘Forever After’ with Malassezia.
Just a Daily Maintenance Routine achieving and ensuring
minimal presence and activity for 95% of the Body
with reduced chances and miniscule casualties
for the more vulnerable –difficult to access–areas
with the occasional nasty surprises of evil
done during sleep.

And now we come to the Under Skin Bruising
resembling the Blood Vessel Bursting Ones:
I Do bruise easily so i am quite familiar with the look, feel
and duration of the different types depending on the area
of occurrence – and have never attributed any of them
to Malassezia as i had no reason or indication to do so.
This one though, shown in the photo below, which was taken
at a much later stage well in the recovery stages, felt and looked
suspiciously a piece of its work but i had no way of verifying.

Malassezia and Bruising1 -MQ

The widespread drying Orange-Gray Biofilm on the Toes
and Top of the Foot is obvious but there was no other specific
indication that the bruise was created from underneath the skin
by Malassezia invasion. Then i had an idea:
I enlarged the Photo and made it lighter for clearer viewing
and there was waiting a great revelation
-the detail that served as the specific indication.
The very familiar Malassezia Lesion ‘Cheesy Center!’
                                A Triple one!
               (Green arrows in Photo below.)

Malassezia and Bruising2 -MQ

This of course was an extreme situation due to circumstances
both in regards to the Degree of Swelling as well as the Blood Bruise.

Below Two Stages of Swelling Recovery
                            (1- 2) early – 3 later stage.

Malassezia Caused Oedema and Bruising – PT2

Malassezia caused Oedema -Bruising 2-MQ (HTML)
To Read First: “Malassezia Caused Oedema and Bruising – PT1”

Before a following display of unbelievable photos
i must give a brief account of how things got there.
I say brief –as is possible to condense a story
stretched over several months – because i have already
written, also as briefly as can possibly be,
in an earlier Entry in the Malassezia Daily site.

A Triple Home Accident starting with an Unexpected
– to allow Body Cushioning and Support – Cough
caused a Pelvic Muscle Pull and Inflammation
followed by Tripping over a quad Cane i borrowed
as a result of the first incident.
Lost balance and bounced on the wall,
further aggravating the condition,
followed right after by a Slip in the Bath,
rendering me in a Wheelchair with Agonising Pain
and almost total Immobility for several months,
during which i was unable to take care of myself
and apply properly the Daily Maintenance Routine.

I was also unable, due to intensity of Pain, to raise
my Chair’s Footrest to keep my feet off the ground
and minimise Malassezia traffic in the area
at a time that was easier to reach Timbuktu
rather than my feet or anywhere below knee level.

Not wanting to load  my man with additional tasks
than he had already shouldered and believing
i would improve within a week or two and be able
to take care of myself, i watched Malassezia
moving there and establishing itself steadily
building a problem that i could have never anticipated
or imagined possible.
The Photos below hardly need any explanations

Within just over a couple of weeks
Going from a Normal Size feet as this

Malassezia on Feet- MQ

To an enormous size like this!….
( Noting the photos were taken at a later Recovery stage – not at Peak)

Leg and Feet Swelling 1 -MQ

No need to elaborate about Pain Discomfort and Stretched out Skin
They are Obvious yet hard to imagine unless one has been there.
Neither about All efforts and ways trying to Reverse the condition
or Prevent the Progression that did not prove successful in this area
while unable to apply the One i knew for sure would work.
Maybe in a future Entry i may detail success in the other areas
such as Pelvic and Pain relief which involved Product Purchasing.

Here I shall explain how i arrived at certainty
that Puffiness and Swelling were caused by Malassezia
built up under the Skin rather than Kidney /Heart
or resulting Uric acid crystal accumulation
due to the severity of the Pelvic Inflammation
as initially my Man and I thought it to be
-and as the most reasonable explanation:

1- As always, i could feel the beast spreading, burning, itching
crawling and going through all its usual so familiar sensations.

2- There was Redness (Purple arrows below)
and abundant Orange Biofilm spread, (Orange arrows)
on Leg, Foot and Toes, initially sticky light orange
then drying up and turning grayish and flaky

Leg and Feet Swelling2-MQ
3- My Kidneys started to Respond to the Other Treatments
    and Function improved considerably
-assessment supported by many signs such as:
Reduced feeling of Nausea and aversion to drinking water
Improving Appetite
Improving Digestion
Increasing Urine Output
Clearer head (previously dull, hazy and feeling waterlogged)
and General Body Pain and Movements aslo improved,
while Legs and Feet seemed to be going
quite the opposite direction and kept Ballooning up
to Dangerous levels of Skin Stretching, to the point
that despite my resolve not to burden my Man
with more than he was already doing for/ and because of me
i had to ask his help for the Only Treatment capable of success.

I knew by now without doubt, that all the evil result
down my Legs and Feet had nothing to do with
Heart or Kidneys fluid built up. It was All Malassezia!

The final test and Proof to this would be – not only in the result
but in Immediate -IF Any- Response in the area:
I said to my Man – who was still believing and worried
about a Heart and Kidney connection- that if it was so,
neither the Fluid of the Oedema nor if it was Uric Acid
would respond to the application of Acidophilus Mix,
since neither was alive or could be affected
              while  Malassezia would
-as a live organism against another-
and from several previous experiences of results
of Acidophilus and Malassezia confrontations as in
‘Malassezia – Acidophilus Round 2 & The 8 Hour Kill?’
and Malassezia – Vibration and Sound

Malassezia Caused Oedema and Bruising – PT1

Malassezia caused Oedema -Bruising 1-MQ (HTML)

K3- “Malassezia and bruising” – (PT1)

I am not sure if by ‘Bruising’ the Reader means an area on the Body
feeling ‘Bruised’ on touch or Blood vessel type of Bruising.
If the former then Yes! …
Malassezia does cause this sensation when it overcrowds
a particular area, in which case depending on the area

1- It may look puffed up, much like oedema as in first Photo below.

Malassezia caused Swelling -MQ

2- It may look Red and feel burning and sensitive to the touch
like under the Nails, near Cuticles and on Finger tips as Below

Malassezia and Bruising 3 -MQ

Green Arrows show ‘Live Specs’ of Yeast

3- It may look like a Blood vessel-burst Bruise, as Purple circled below

Malassezia caused Swelling 2-MQ

Blood Bruising, under the Skin is not something i had encountered
during the past 5 years other than very small pimple sized ones
where failed to erupt into Lesions. The usual is on Surface
where the skin is corroded and exposed when a Lesion is formed.

All until this -not so recent now- incident and developments

Malassezia and Bruising -MQ

The Story attached to the above photo is coming in Next Entry
with details about events that followed a Triple Accident at home
that took place a number of months back
and what Malassezia did when left uninterrupted
been unable to fully implement Daily Maintenance
in inaccessible, due to pain, areas of my Body.

The Morgellons Confusion

The Morgellons Confusion -MQ
Q1- “mogllon is fungus malezzia”
It appears Morgellons is more widely known
due to general public confusion, than Malassezia is.
The Keyword above and the ones below
will illustrate what i mean by confusion:
Q2- “what is morgellons demodex mites”
Q3- “morgellons lice whats difference
         between lice and morgellons”
Q4- “morgellons candida
Q5- “was medusas hair morgellons” ****
The words in green, indicate creatures in their own right
medically identified and recognised, including Malassezia,
while Morgellons has yet to get there …
I am not refuting its existence but i am not in a position
to accept or reject, other than on personal level
until it is officially done by Medicine.
Q5- “was medusas hair morgellons”
I believe this Keyword refers to my Entry in Malassezia Blog
Malassezia Hyphae: Bloodsucking Medusas
The Reader is in a Malassezia site reading and looking
at a Malassezia Photo yet asks if the Hyphae ( hair)

is … Morgellons!…

Medusa-MQ

 ‘I rest my case!’ 🙂

Q6- can morgellons be mistaken for lice
I would be more inclined to put this question in the Reverse:
Can Lice be mistaken for Morgellons?…
Lice is a Parasite while Morgellons is a bunch of symptoms
created by … ‘something’ either existing and confused as Morgellons
or Something not yet fully or officially identified or recognised.

K1- “treatment for morgellons eye infection”
I wonder if this was a similar case to the ‘Medusas hairs’ entry
Reader intending to reach the Three Blepharitis Entries
Malassezia~Dealing with Chronic Blepharitis (PT1)
It is hard to tell which keywords were entered inside the Site
and which ones were keyed-in in external Search engines.

K2- “morgellons paper cuts”
A classic case of Malassezia mistaken for Morgellons?
I have mentioned in some earlier entries that some people
believing their symptoms are Morgellons while they may in reality
be Malassezia. Paper cuts are a characteristic Malassezia Symptom.

K2- “morgellon’s in intestines”
K3- “morgellons in vagina”
K4- “morgellons hair parasites”
K5- “morgellons lesions on the scalp”
K6- “morgellons lesions on buttocks”
K7- “near infra red morgellons”
K8- “cream of tartar morgellons”
This Entry in Malassezia Daily might be helpful
Morgellons&Demodex Symptoms-Malassezia Solutions

K9-“morgellons and the end of imes”
‘Morgellons and the end of T-imes’
Quite an Interesting Keyword…
I wonder what the Prophet had in mind
– Oops! …i meant the Reader! Lol! 🙂

K10- “mupirocin morgellons”
I am sure this keyword was not meant for any of my Sites
unless the Reader was already in one of them
and inserted the keyword in the Site’s Search area.
I don’t know much about it so i Googled Mupirocin
and this is what i found.

“mupirocin cannot be used for extended periods of time,
or indiscriminately, as resistance does develop
and could, if it becomes widespread,
destroy mupirocin’s value as a treatment for MRSA.
It may also result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.”

Malassezia – Internal or External ?

Malassezia Internal or External -MQ
Q1 “is malassezia internal or external”

Malassezia is Both Internal and External
Internal as in the Intestinal Track and Vagina
And External as on Skin, Practically every area on Body

Malassezia in Faecal-Vaginal Samples S-MQ
Photos above show Malassezia in Faecal(1) and Vaginal (2) Samples
                 and Below Malassezia on Fingertips

Malassezia Fungus on Finger Tips 1-MQ

Q1-2  “is malassezia internal or external” (2)
Another way to look at this question is, as
 Is Malassezia Endogenous or Exogenous

Endogenous:
1- having an internal cause or origin
2- growing or originating from within an organism.
 Exogenous:
1- having an external cause or origin.
2- growing or originating from outside an organism

I am not sure if Researchers have established firmly whether
Malassezia is Endogenous or Exogenous or Both.
The Info i have read while researching has been suggesting
exogenous as being airborne, but recently while searching
for something i came across an article referring to it as
‘…therefore indication is, it is Endogenous…”
unfortunately i did not stop to copy that part and not sure
whether it referred to it as generally so or as in a specific case.

Going by my own experience and considering that i cannot see it
or confirm its origin other than its presence in Samples taken
both from internal as well as external areas, and the fact that
it appears to be able to complete its Cycle both Internally
as well as Externally, i strongly believe it is Both!

The One very puzzling -to me- and still unexplained mystery
is its consistent Trips ‘ In and Out’ of the Genital areas
i.e Anal Canal and Vaginal area and the ‘When’ and ‘Why’
and ‘How Many Times’ in the Cycle – as i cannot confirm
if what comes out goes back in –and possibly returns outside
or stays inside – or if what goes inside stays inside
or comes out again and/or back inside…
A Microchip or Distinguishing Biofilm Colour could prove helpful
for tracking it Lol! …but none available to me other the sensation
and proof of what i can Intercept as soon as i sense it in Motion.

Q2 “is malessia yeast alive”

I am guessing the Reader means
Is Malassezia a Live Creature or a Condition/Symptom
such as Allergy , Dermatitis etc – again guessing.
Yes it is Alive as seen under Digital Microscope
and it does cause a host of Conditions /Symptoms including Dermatitis.

Malassezia on Finger Tips 1-MQ

In Photos above Malassezia on Finger tips in motion
moving constantly, changing shapes, separating into smaller
‘puddles’ then regrouping each time into different shapes.
Disappears under the skin then reappears again.
Its density and appearance changes as it matures.

Q3  “do mallassezzia yeast have legs”

Reader very generous on ll‘s, Ss‘s and Zz‘s 🙂
No, it has no legs… but it often develops Hyphae/Filaments
and during that time it often feels like it crawls on the skin
but the sensation is deceptive because at that stage
it is topical, stationary and ready to start digging into the skin
to obtain blood and does not -cannot- crawl anywhere.

Is there Yeast on my Skin?

Malassezia on Skin or Body-MQ
Q1 “how can i tell if there is yeast on my skin”
Q2  “can you have a malassezia infection in your body”
Q3  “malasezia a parasite”

Practically Every Person has Yeast on their Skin and Body
Top to Toe – Internally and Externally
Not Just Malassezia but other types of Yeast as well.

Malassezia Normal Skin Flora 2- MQ
Most, like Malassezia, are part of Natural Body Flora.
Some are Beneficial to the Body but some, like Malassezia
are opportunistic ‘creatures’  and turn into Pathogens
when something goes wrong with the Immune System
caused by Illness, Stress, Antibiotics, X-Rays,
Chronically Poor Diet, Grief or Bad Relationships, Lol!
-ok that was meant to be a joke … but Divorce is real!-
as many other of Life’s circumstances.

So, Malassezia ‘Technically’ is Neither a Parasite
Nor an Infection as such but when it turns into a Pathogen
its Behaviour and Symptoms resulting,
closely resemble either or both!
It can start a chain of  Symptoms in either predominantly
isolated areas or cause general Problems all over the Body
and the Condition can become chronic
– if not dealt effectively in the early stages –
or cause general Problems all over the Body.

Many Symptoms are often puzzling or confused with other
ailments or causes, especially because many people
do not know much -if anything- about Malassezia.
As to how one can tell if they have a Malassezia “Problem/ Infection”
or it simply lives quietly on their skin
can be determined by Symptoms or Ailments if Pathogenic
or signs if its presence is ‘Silent’ and causing no discernible trouble.

Signs of its Presence if not causing any great Problems
can be detected as the occurrence of

– Dry or Cracked Skin
– Dirty, Black looking Nails for no apparent reason,
– Poorly looking Breaking Nails,
– Sensitive, withdrawn, Red Cuticles,
– Red Itchy Eyes,
– Unexplained Cuts on Hands,
– Non healing Sores
– Restless Leg Syndrome,
– General Restlessness – and many more …

I have described and detailed how i have dealt
with most – if not all – its many Pathogenic Manifestations
in great Detail in  Malassezia Blog and Malassezia Daily Sites.

Malassezia Healing Lesions and Scars on Back

Malassezia Lesion healing 1 -MQ
All Photos in this Entry are simple Phone Camera Shots
neither magnified as when under Microscope nor Enlarged for details
and still easy to see
– Widespread Orange Biofilm
– Red Healing Lesions
– Healed Lesion Scars
The least of my worries back then was whether the Scars would be
permanent – in fact i very much expected they would be –
but the majority have totally cleared and any remaining
are very faint, hardly visible at all.
Great really considering that back then the Lesions were
frequent, large, extended, fairly deep and lasted near 4 weeks
compared to the occasional tiny, pimple size ones that may
sneak up nowadays that usually last for a few days.

Malassezia Healing Blisters under Breast (1)

Below the First of Two major attacks i have suffered throughout

Blisters under Breast 1 -MQ
The Blisters shown above were already in a healing stage.
The initial affected area was much more extended.
The Left side shows the Gray -Drying and Dying- Biofilm.
If Scrapings were examined under Microscope they would reveal
still virulent hyphae ready to create more Blisters if left undisturbed.

Malassezia Healing Blisters under Breast (2)
The Second of the two major attacks.

Blisters under Breast 2-MQ
It was primarily caused by a forced Malassezia relocation
from Scalp due to a Shampoo and another Product change.
Much more severe than the First, quite extended and painful
but this time with the right treatment the healing process was faster
and surprising, it left No trace of the event behind it.

Below stage 2 – on the Recovery

Blisters under Breast 3-MQ
The Redness and Inflammation still strong but Blisters smoothed
and area around it clearing. The hardest part was to keep away
new batches attracted to the inflamed area.

                          Stage 3 and 4 Recovery

Malassezia Blisters under Breast 2- MQ
Fast Progress and steady Clearing – Miraculously No scarring…

Malassezia Biofilm on Shoulder and Neck

Malassezia on Neck and Shoulder 1 A-MQ
Widespread Biofilm on the Skin making it look dirty
and if layer is thick makes the Skin dry as it dries out
and feels rough to the touch like a desert Lizard.
Some Itchy Redish areas still visible (circled).
If not interrupted have the potential to develop into Bumps
and eventually break out into Lesions.

More on the Legs below

Dry Skin 1- MQ
The Skin looks dirty and distinctly Bumpy in the covered areas
but smooth and lighter where free.
It starts Orange or Semitransparent but turns Gray as it dries
and much  harder to clear off.

                           Malassezia Biofilm on Feet

Malassezia on Feet1- MQ
Much the same as above – areas affected marked with arrows.
Initially it causes a Burning, Itchy sensation, then as the Biofilm
dries and its ready to dig into the skin it feels like it is crawling
on the surface.
At this point it must be scrubbed off before it causes problems.

Malassezia Head to Toe (1) – A

Malassezia Head to Toe 1A -MQ
                  Malassezia Affecting Eyelashes (1)

Blepharitis 2-MQ
The Eye area Provides many elements vital for Malassezia,
   such as:
Hair Follicles
– Moisture
– Natural Eye Fluids
A naturally preferred Malassezia area  during periods of stress
or diet related dehydration and a refuge for when trying
to control and contain
a Scalp problem bombarding the head
with chemicals and medicated shampoos.
None Kills Malassezia on Impact  -if at all- and therefore forced
to re-locate to another area- Ears and Eyes the two closest ones.
If there is a general weakness there, it is liable to settle
and start a Cycle of Blepharitis.
The photo above  is one testament of such a Cycle
which i have been fighting periodically to this day
– only now i know how to keep it under control
and prevent it causing the problems evidenced above.

Malassezia Affecting Eyebrows 1A-MQ

Starting from the Eyebrow, we can observe parts
                  Thinned out and Missing.
In the Photo below the Top Eyelid is Swollen and Red

Blepharitis 2-MQ

So are the Eyelash beds Top and Bottom.
Particularly noticeable is the total lack of Eyelashes
on the lower part while on the top they are poor
with thinning gaps in between.

Malassezia Affecting Eyelashes (2)

Eyelashes 1 -MQ
Closing the Eyelids can observe the built-up of Malassezia
at the Gritty solidified stage. Very hard to clear it off
and takes time when it has reached this well-embedded stage.
(See earlier Entries for Grit view under Microscope)

Malassezia Affecting Eyelashes (2 -2)

Eyelashes 2-MQ
Eyelid Stretched to maximum for easier view of details.
Top Eyelid shows how densely imbedded is the Grit
-took me a while to realise what it was doing and by discovery time
it was too late for effective clearing – so i concentrated on prevention
and deterrence while gradually clearing the crusty Grit.
The Bottom part shows the scant presence of eyelashes
and looking carefully, several Bumpy areas as indicated by the arrow.

Malassezia Liquid, Grit and Discolouration

Malassezia in Eye and Eyelashes 1 -MQ
In Photo above, white circles are Microscope light Reflections.
Dark Cream Arrows point to Malassezia at the Liquid stage.
It is transparent but clearly visible and distinguishable
with an in-between water and jelly, look and viscosity.
Gritty particles on the Eyelashes, in both photos, i.e a later
more advanced stage – as well as Eyelash Edges Discolouration.

Malassezia Liquid and Orange Stage of Biofilm

Malassezia Biofilm on Outer Surface -MQ
On the Left –Orange Arrow point to Orange spread of Biofilm
on the outer part of Eyelid and on Right, red semicircle points
to Transparent Liquid stage. Under Microscope it shimmers
and constantly changes positions and shapes.

Eyelashes Before and After Treatment

Blepharitis 1-MQ
The Double Photo above shows the Two States
of Before and After Triple Action Healing Treatment
was consistently applied for sometime:
1- Daily Cleaning Maintenance
2- Daily Deterrent Application
3- Healing and Eyelash Enriching Treatment

Scalp Recovery and Rich Hair Growth

Hair and Scalp 1 - MQ
At the time when my Hair had started falling off
-fast and in clumps, estimating i had only a few days left
to act before going bold – i was in too much distress
to think of taking any photos.
The Photos above are at a Total Recovery stage of Scalp
clear of Redness, Burning, Itch, Bumps and Sores
and A healthy Rich Growth such that the scalp
was not visible through anymore (photo 3)
Back then i used Lethal Drastic Methods
for which i Paid a Price and learned a Lesson
but have maintained control and containment since
with a much healthier way of care and maintenance.

Malassezia Bumps and Lesions on Outer Ear and Face

Bumps on Face - MQ
These Photos above were also from earlier times
when i had suffered repeatedly some really vicious attacks
in the outer part of the Ears and the Crease point at back.
I scrub meticulously there every day to dislodge and interrupt
any attempts of Malassezia settling in the area.
There was also some brief time i had Facial Bumps
and some -but not all- opened into bleeding lesions.
Both areas have been trouble free in recent times
but i have been keeping a vigilant eye.

Malassezia Bumps and Sores on Lips (1)

Sores on Lips1 -MQ
They can be easily mistaken for Cold Sores or Herpes
because they have similar Blister Cluster look, symptoms
and duration and usually strike during Colds, Flu, Fever
which cause dehydration and lowered immunity.
They both last approximately 3 – 4 weeks.
During those times as described above
i find difficult to tell with certainty which one it is
except perhaps that Malassezia, does not stop just there
but spreads well in the peripheral skin area
of mouth, chin and cheeks.

Malassezia Bumps and Sores on Lips (1-2)

Sores on Lips 2A -MQ
